Gran Turismo 7 Patch 1.40 Notes (7 New Cars & New Tracks)

Gran Turismo 7 version 1.40 is rolling out on PS4 and PS5 players. According to the official Gran Turismo 7 1.40 patch notes, the latest SPEC II update adds 7 new cars, track, and features. Apart from this, Gran Turismo 7 update 1.40 also includes various fixes.

Previously, a major GT7 update 1.23 added 3 new cars, quality of life changes, and more. Recently, GT7 hotfix 1.24 added some minor tweaks to the game. Unfortunately, players are experiencing a number of issues with the game. Today’s Gran Turismo 7 patch 1.40 will address a few of these issues.

Gran Turismo 7 1.40 Patch Notes – Novermber 1, 2023

The SPEC II Update 1.40 includes the following add-ons:

  • SPEC II Opening Movie
  • 7 New Cars
  • New Circuit: Lake Louise with 3 layouts
  • 3 Café / Extra Menus
  • Update to World Circuits
  • Gran Turismo Sophy (AI Driver Agent) with Quick Race (PS5 Only)
  • 50 Challenges added to Licenses
  • Paddock added to Multiplayer Menu
  • 4-Player Split Screen Races (PS5 Only)
  • Features added to Photos / Scapes
  • Updated GT Menu / Dashboard

1. New Additions to the Garage

Seven new cars have been introduced in this update, including:

  • Dodge Charger R/T 426 Hemi ‘68: A classic 60s muscle car that stands as a testament to the American muscle car era. It has received an ‘R/T’ (Road/Track) performance package which enhances the car’s sports performance.
  • Dodge Charger SRT Demon ‘18: An absolute beast on the quarter-mile track, this car can achieve a 0-62 mph time in just 2.3 seconds, thanks to its powerful engine based on the Hellcat model.
  • Lexus LFA ‘10: This ultra high-tech sports car is a symbol of Toyota’s dedication to combining cutting-edge technology with consistent product quality.
  • NISMO 400R ‘95: This is a limited-production version of the R33 GT-R, boasting 394.5 BHP.
  • Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II ‘91: Developed for touring car racing, it represents the ultimate evolution of the 190 E series.
  • Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992) ‘22: Released in summer 2022, this hyper-performance street car is packed with features that echo its racing heritage, including a swan neck mounted rear wing and an F1 style DRS.
  • Tesla Model 3 Performance ‘23: Representing the cutting edge of electric vehicles, it offers impressive performance at an affordable price point.

2. New Circuit: Lake Louise

For the first time, snow courses are being introduced with the Lake Louise circuit. Designed around a fictional ski resort in the Canadian Rockies, this circuit offers three unique layouts, catering to various racing preferences.

3. Enhanced Gaming Experience

Apart from the new cars and tracks, the update brings:

  • 50 New License Tests: Enhancing the player’s skillset, these challenges will be available post-clearing the standard licenses.
  • 4-Player Split Screen Races: Exclusive to the PS5, players can now enjoy races with three other friends on the same screen.
  • Gran Turismo Sophy (AI Driver Agent) with Quick Race: Another PS5 exclusive, players can opt to race against this prototype AI for an even more exhilarating racing experience.

4. Updated GT Menu and Interface

With the introduction of the ‘Event Directory’ button, players can quickly find and participate in events they qualify for. The multiplayer experience has also seen an upgrade with the ‘Paddock’ parking area replacing the ‘room’ screen in Meeting Places. This allows for more immersive player interaction.

5. Improvements to Photos / Scapes

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the new slow shutter speeds added to the Race Photo mode. This provides more freedom to capture breathtaking moments during the post-race replay.
