Valorant Update 9.06 Patch Notes (PS5 version 1.000.013) for September 24, 2024

Valorant update 9.06 (1.000.013) is available to download on PS5, PC and Xbox. According to the official Valorant 9.06 patch notes, the latest update focuses on enhancing agent abilities’ interactions with Ascent’s glass windows, introduces a New Player Tips system, improves the voice chat experience, and adjusts penalties for comms abuse. Apart from this, the latest Valorant patch 9.06 also address agent abilities, cosmetics, and gameplay systems.

Valorant 1.000.013 Patch Notes – September 24, 2024

Agent Updates

  • Wall Interactions with Glass Window on Ascent:
    • Phoenix’s Blaze and Neon’s Fast Lane: Will break the glass window if the initial cast hits the window, but the walls themselves do not interact.
    • Harbor’s High Tide: Will no longer break the glass window.
    • Chamber’s Trademark, Cypher’s Trapwire, and Killjoy’s Lockdown: No longer break windows when placed too close.
  • Brimstone and Vyse Updates:
    • Brimstone’s Orbital Strike: Windup and activation audio now slightly directional towards the AOE origin.
    • Vyse’s Steel Garden: AOE windup audio now gives directional cues to indicate escape routes.

Gameplay Systems Updates

  • Voting Systems:
    • Draw votes now exclude AFK players from influencing the outcome.
  • New Player Tips:
    • Introduced for new accounts to provide gameplay guidance and strategies.
    • Tips adapt based on player actions and can be toggled in Settings.

Map Updates

  • Haven:
    • Quality of life improvements for placing Vyse’s Arc Rose and Cypher’s Trapwire on crates.
  • Fracture:
    • Now available in Unrated and Swift Play queues on console, completing the map catalog.

Player Behavior Updates

  • Comms Abuse Penalties:
    • Increased penalties for repeated comms abuse behavior.
    • Manual evaluations will lead to penalties for frequent offenders.

Social Updates

  • Voice Chat Improvements:
    • Reconnection to voice chat is now more reliable after unexpected disconnects.
  • Block Communications:
    • Players can now block all communications (text, voice, party invites, friend requests) from others.

Weapons Updates

  • Weapon Skin Names:
    • Skin names now appear in the in-game Weapon Switcher for easier identification.

Bug Fixes

Agents
  • Deadlock: Fixed an issue where Sonic Sensors stayed active when killed.
  • Cypher: Trapwire now properly takes damage from abilities.
  • Gekko: Wingman no longer loops when chasing unreachable targets.
  • Yoru: Fakeout now correctly triggers Vyse’s Shear.
  • Breach: Can now cast abilities through Vyse’s Shear.
  • Sova: Recon Bolt fixed to not be destroyed by Vyse’s Shear.
  • Fixed various collision issues and VFX bugs related to Vyse’s Shear, Arc Rose, and Razorvine.
Cosmetics
  • Fixed the third-person animation issue with the Nocturnum Scythe.
Gameplay Systems
  • Combat Report now correctly displays “killed” text for allies.
  • Fixed text alignment for “killed by” in Arabic in the Combat Report.
Maps
  • Breeze: Mechanical door at A Switch now correctly allows bullets to pass through when open.
Console Gameplay Systems Updates
  • Megamap Cursor Sensitivity:
    • New input curve setting for megamap cursor controls.
    • Agent-specific cursor settings for abilities using the megamap.
  • Removed aim assist from abilities not intended to target opposing players.

Previously, a big update added a map, Battlepass, and quality of life changes. Recently, Valorant update 5.04 was also released. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing a number of issues when trying to play the game online. Today’s Valorant 1.000.010 will fix a few of these issues.
