TheHunter COTW update 1.87 is avaialble to download on PS4, PC and Xbox players. According to the Hunter COTW update 1.87 patch notes, the latest update introduces new scopes and reticles for long-range hunting. The FOXPRO X360 remote caller has been upgraded with new features. Reticle customization and various animal animation improvements are now available for all players. Apart from this, the Hunter Call Of The Wild version 1.87 also includes bug fixes for gameplay, audio, equipment, dogs, animals, character, multiplayer, missions, UI, customization, and system.
Previously, TheHunter COTW update 1.52 added a long list of bug fixes and changes. Unfortunately, since the last patch, many players are experiencing a number of issues. Today’s the Hunter COTW update 1.87 will fix a few of these issues.

New Features and Improvements
- Scopes and Crosshairs Pack:
- Introduces three new high-powered scopes: Angler, Hermes, and Odin.
- Offers five new customizable reticles: Duplex Centre Cross, Mil Dot 02, Reticle Crosscut, Target Dot, and Chevron.
- FOXPRO X360 Upgrade:
- Available for free to Ambusher Pack owners.
- Introduces two new features: FOXFUSION and FOXBANG.
- Reticle Customization:
- All telescopic scopes now have customizable reticles.
- New reticles are available in the Scopes DLC package.
- Changing reticles costs 4500 Hunter Bucks.
- Localization:
- Japanese and Simplified Chinese text localizations added to Xbox and PlayStation versions.
- Store Menu:
- New or updated items are highlighted in the Store menu.
- POI Icons:
- POI icons adjusted for improved consistency and clarity.
- Gandhare Rifle Ammo:
- .577/450 Black Powder rounds now considered ethical for class 9 animals.
- Caversham 12 Gauge Shotguns:
- Picatinny Rail and Rear Sight removed for improved sight picture.
- Rifle Scope Positioning:
- Picatinny Rail and scope positioning adjusted on Rangemaster, M1 Iwaniec, and Solokhin MN1890.
- Weapon Accuracy:
- Weapon accuracy reviewed and updated for various zeroing ranges with different scopes and sights.
- Loading Screen Phrases:
- Entertaining phrases added to the loading screen.
- Audio Restructuring:
- Game audio data restructured for improved stability and consistency.
- Multiplayer Player Colors:
- Player colors changed for easier differentiation in Multiplayer.
- Animal Animation Improvements:
- Multiple animation improvements for several animals, including alligator, moose, bears, Cape Buffalo, European Rabbit, raccoon, wild boar, all deers, Cape Buffalo, Beceite Ibex, puma, and Snow Leopard.
Gameplay
- Animals no longer appear out of thin air when exiting structures, such as tripods.
Audio
- The bush-rustling sound effect now stops correctly when a player walks through multiple bushes at once, instead of continuing to play.
- Raining sounds on the Shooting Range in Hirschfelden no longer persist when the weather changes.
Equipment
- The antler rattler is now held correctly.
- The accuracy of bows has been improved when using the Brightsight Rangefinder Sight with different zeroing settings.
- .410 Birdshot rounds no longer stop traveling after 75 meters.
- A minor visual issue on the .454 Revolver has been fixed.
- Ballistics on 9.3X74R Polymer-Tip Bullets have been adjusted to improve their accuracy at 150 meters.
- The lettering on the cylinder of the Vasquez Cyclone .45 is now oriented correctly.
- The reloading animation of the Hudzik .50 when crouching has been fixed.
- Several issues with third-person animations on various shotguns have been addressed.
- The iron sight on the King 470DB now correctly reflects the current zeroing range.
- A texture issue on the chamber of the 7mm Regent rifles has been fixed.
- The Iron Sight alignment on the Virant .22LR has been corrected.
- The Ladder Sight on the Gandhare Rifle now uses the correct zeroing settings.
- Weapons no longer appear to be endlessly reloading when viewed in third person if the player carrying the weapon was knocked out and respawned while reloading.
- Crouching or going prone with the Rolleston .45 no longer causes camera issues.
- Reloading the Tsurugi LRR .338 no longer causes camera issues if the player does not have any ranks of the Lightning Hands Perk.
- The Red Raptor Reflex sight can now be used with the Rhino .454 as intended.
- The reload animation on the Kullman .22H has been fixed.
- The audio for firing a Zarza or Arzyna rifle is now in sync when firing the last round in the magazine.
Dogs
- Players cannot command their dogs while in outposts.
Animals
- Animals are now better at turning, making them less likely to run into the water.
- The Bengal Tiger’s idle animation has been fixed.
- European Rabbits no longer fly away if shot while trying to enter their warrens.
- Bengal Tigers no longer look away from the player just before mauling them.
- A rendering issue with Merriam Turkey’s feathers has been fixed.
Character
- Unconscious Players no longer visibly blink.
Multiplayer
- All animals are now more reactive to certain players in Multiplayer.
- Players using the Windows Store edition of the game can now join their friends’ multiplayer games via invitations, even when those friends are also on the Windows Store version.
- Players using the Windows Store version of the game can now invite their friends (also on the Windows Store version) to join multiplayer games if the server is hosted by someone using either the Epic Games Store or Steam version.
- A crash that could occasionally happen on Xbox when joining voice chat in Multiplayer after previously having the application suspended has been fixed.
Missions
- Rotating the map now correctly progresses the objective during the “Something Wicked This Way Comes” mission on Mississippi Acres.
UI
- When switching to Tru-score on the harvest screen while X-ray view is enabled, the view now zooms in on the antlers again.
- The downloadable content menu now updates frequently enough on Xbox and PlayStation.
- A confusing “Controller Disconnected” message that appeared on PlayStation after switching profiles has been removed.
- Rotating mission items while inspecting them is now smoother.
- Recently purchased DLCs no longer show up in the “Recommended DLC” list.
Customization
- The customization item formerly known as “Christmas Red Laminate Wood” has been renamed to “Christmas Red Carbon Fiber” to reflect its appearance.
System
- When launching the game during installation on a console, players now receive a warning pop-up indicating that the game is still installing, and that only limited content is available.
- For Xbox users with a large number of achievements, the autosave function no longer stops working upon loading into a Reserve.
- Memory management has been improved to enhance game stability.
- A crash that could happen when attempting to fire a bow at a shooting range without any arrows loaded has been fixed.
- The game no longer unexpectedly crashes if a player using the Windows Store version signs out of their profile while playing the game.
