The Sims 4 patch 1.87 is rolling out on PS4, PC(1.98), and Xbox One. According to the official Sims 4 1.87 patch notes, the latest update enables access to the Gallery for El Capitan and Sierra macOS users. Apart from this, Sims 4 update 1.87 also fixes game shutdowns on new-gen consoles and resolves issues with profile uploads and household filtering.
Previously, a major SIMS 4 update 1.61 added new features, fixes, and gameplay improvements. Recently, a hotfix added quality of life improvements. Unfortunately, since the last patch, players are facing various issues with the game. Today’s Sims 4 version 1.87 will address a few of these issues.

What’s New?
- New Button: Introducing a new button located in the top right corner of your screen.
- This button, adorned with a cart symbol, offers various functionalities.
- Easily access pack offers, sales information, and recommended packs without leaving your Sims’ homes.
Bug Fixes
The Sims 4
- Cooking Indicator: Sims now indicate if there are obstacles preventing them from completing a meal.
- Reward Traits: Prevented the multiple purchase of reward traits from the Rewards Store.
- Scenario Tool Tips: Updated some tool tips for improved clarity.
- Moodlet Update: Clarified the text for the “Stabbed a Friend in the Back” moodlet.
Critical Mod Fix
- Mods will no longer invoke TunableFactory at runtime, preventing None object exceptions.
Console
- Wall Tile Placement: Restored the ability to toggle wall tile placement types on controllers.
- Stability Improvements: Addressed a crash on Xbox, enhancing stability.
Gallery Server
- Comment Reporting: Resolved the reappearance of reported comments after restarting the game client.
- Profanity Filter: Adjusted settings to reduce false positives; further issues can be reported via a survey.
Cats & Dogs
- Breed Descriptions: Updated descriptions for several breeds of cats and dogs.
Seasons
- Holiday Celebrations: Fixed an issue where some Sims couldn’t participate in Holiday Events.
- Fishing Update: Sims can now fish in cold windy and cloudy windy weather conditions.
Get Famous
- Opt Out of Fame: Safely opt out of fame without affecting NPC Sims visiting community lots.
Eco Lifestyle
- Off the Grid Fridges: Fridges using ice will no longer drain power when Off the Grid.
For Rent
- Rental Incomes: Added clarity on UI screens regarding rent collection and taxes.
- Save Error Fixes: Resolved various save errors and improved Nasi Lemak model accuracy.
Miscellaneous Fixes
- Fixed issues with getting stuck on Residential Rental lots.
- Improved readability of text messages.
- Enabled completion of “Socialize with Close Sims” want.
Dream Home Decorator
- Sims will no longer be stuck on client’s lots after completing a home decorator gig.
Home Chef Hustle
- Sims will no longer autonomously eat prepped ingredients.
- Adjusted frequency of fires when cooking with certain appliances.
- Corrected moodlet after eating plain waffles.
- Aspirations now count towards achievements.
- Fixed animation issues with Stand Mixer.
Goth Galore
- Fixed issue with goth hoodie enlarging Sims’ eyes.
The following changes were added previously.
Addressed the the holiday bug in The Sims 4 Seasons where only certain Sims can see the holiday panel pop-up.
- El Capitan and Sierra macOS users can now access the Gallery in The Sims 4 after an update.
- Players on new-generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles no longer experience game shutdowns when launching the game online.
- Removing an upload from the Gallery no longer keeps it in the player’s profile.
- The filtering of Households in the Gallery now correctly displays only those with a total of 1 Sim, instead of showing all Households with 1 or more Sims.
