Rainbow Six Siege version 2.83 (version 1.000.087) is available to download on PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox One. According to the official R6 2.83 patch notes, the latest update addresses various issues including rappel glitches, sight attachment errors, and operator ability display problems. Apart from this, Rainbow 6 Siege update 2.83 also includes resolve issues related to gameplay mechanics, level design flaws, audio issues, and user experience improvements, enhancing overall gameplay quality and immersion.

Previously, a big season 7 update added a new defender Azami (Kiba barrier gadget), permanent Team Deathmatch mode, and changes for Goyo, Melusi, Thunderbird, Kali, Valkyrie, and Zero. Recently, a hotfix Y7S1.2 was also released. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing issues with the game. Today’s R6 Siege patch 2.83 will fix a few of these issues.

  • Corrected issues with the shell model stretching for players after swapping shells.
  • Skopós’ incorrect positioning on the victory screen resolved.
  • Fixed Nøkk’s visibility under Skopós’ idle state when using Hel Presence Reduction.
  • Resolved invisibility bugs affecting Clash, Fuze, Thunderbird, and Aruni.
  • Addressed multiple crash causes.

BUG FIXES

GAMEPLAY

  • Rappel Fix: Rappel no longer breaks when you reach the distance limit and walk backward during the animation.
  • Sight Attachment: Fenrir’s SASG-12 now shows the correct default sight attachment.
  • Barbed Wire: It now takes the intended number of shield-melee attacks to destroy barbed wire.
  • Shield Position: The position of shields that players and enemy Operators see no longer becomes out of sync if free-look is used before the shield realigns itself.
  • Aruni’s Gate: Aruni’s Surya Gate now deactivates for friendly Operators when placed close to stairs.
  • Camera Clipping: Your camera will no longer clip through you when using free-look and going prone next to a wall.
  • DeathMARK Icon: Deimos’ DeathMARK icon no longer disappears when entering a field that deactivates electronic devices.
  • Free-Look Fix: Free-look now works properly even if you look right and use it multiple times.

LEVEL DESIGN

  • Kiba Barrier: Fixed an unintended line of sight reachable by using Azami’s Kiba Barrier to vault on top of an air hockey table at 1F Storage in the Theme Park map.

AUDIO

  • Audio Fix: Gameplay audio is no longer muted during End of Round replays, the end of the match, and kill cams.

OPERATORS

  • Deimos Spectating: Spectating now properly displays Deimos’s ability when reconnecting to the match.

USER EXPERIENCE

  • Uniform Rewards: Placeholder assets are no longer displayed for multiple uniform rewards in the Uniform view page of the Battle Pass progression menu.
  • Tutorial Control Guide: The tutorial control guide menu no longer pops out when toggling the ping target in Map Run.
  • Operator Bundles: Operator bundles are now shown correctly after purchasing, without needing the player to leave and re-enter the operator album screen.
  • Loading Screen: Operator portrait is no longer displayed offset in the Loading screen of Free For All sessions.
  • DeathMARK Display: Deimos’ DeathMARK probe and laser now display team color settings correctly.
  • Operator Guide: Operator Guide content now loads properly when using the scroll bar.
  • Camera Shake: Camera no longer shakes more than intended when entering rappel.
