According to the official PUBG 1.017 patch notes, the latest update 42.1 introduces the Ally Duo mode with AI teammate Ella, Interactive Smoke mechanics, a complete Blue Zone overhaul, SLR improvements, healing item balance updates, longer Ranked Season 42 with revised RP progression, UGC Racing Mode tools, Haven for Intense Battle Royale, PC controller support, and a redesigned Black Market Workshop. Additionally, PUBG console version 1.017.000 also includes stability fixes.

New Mode: Ally Duo (PC)
- Added the limited-time Ally Duo beta mode.
- Players team up with AI companion Ella on Sanhok.
- Mode available from June 17 until July 1 (UTC).
- Supports TPP Duo with up to 64 participants, including players, Ella, and bots.
- Requires compatible NVIDIA RTX hardware, updated drivers, and Windows Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling.
- Voice chat is limited to communication with Ella.
- Spectating, Death Cam, Replay, and reconnect features are unavailable.

Previously, a major PUBG update 1.007 (39.1) added freezing Blue Zone effects, heavy map alterations, and dynamic winter weather. The new BZ Grenade Launcher expands tactical control with deployable Blue Zone spheres. Gunplay sees major recoil tuning across VSS, SLR, SKS, AUG, and M416. Casual Mode shifts to a 60-minute limit, while UGC Alpha returns with new devices and modes. Unfortunately, since the last major update, players are experiencing issues with the game. Today’s PUBG patch 1.017 will fix a few of these issues.
