Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord update 1.21 (1.021) is rolling out on PS4 and PC. According to the official Bannerlord 1.21 patch notes, the latest update introduces accessible Aserai helmets, and implements a major multiplayer server upgrade for better performance and scalability. Apart from this, Bannerlord patch 1.21 also resolves crashes and bugs in both singleplayer and multiplayer.
Previously, a big M&B 2 Bannerlord update added quality of life changes and improvements. Recently, Bannerloard hotfix 1.09 added minor tweaks and changes. Unfortunately, players are facing several issues. Today’s Mount and Blade Bannerlord patch 1.21 will fix a few of these issues.

Singleplayer
Crash Fixes
- Fixed a crash during troop exchanges in settlements.
- Resolved a crash when rescuing a companion and assigning them to a new party while using a Party screen filter.
- Fixed crashes caused by riderless mounts finding retreat positions.
- Addressed a crash due to deprecated policies in map notifications.
- Fixed a crash when assigning traits to teen heroes.
- Resolved a crash when interacting through the Clan screen while in a settlement.
- Fixed a crash when attacking a besieger party after accepting peace with the same faction.
- Addressed a crash when a village raid with no notables ended.
- Fixed a crash during settlement claimant decision cancellations.
- Resolved crashes occurring when entering missions or the campaign map.
- Fixed a crash when ending mercenary contracts through dialogue.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug preventing players from leaving a siege after making peace with the enemy as an independent clan.
- Resolved party roles resetting after the Rival Gang Leader quest battle.
- Addressed town security inversion during the Bounty Hunter quest (success increased security instead of decreasing it, and vice versa).
- Fixed courtship ending due to the player being in an army.
Changes
- Certain Aserai helmets that were previously inaccessible are now available in shops.
Multiplayer
Crash Fixes
- Fixed a crash when exiting the lobby while News items were loading.
Bug Fixes
- Resolved an issue preventing mount speed control after dying and respawning in Captain Mode.
- Fixed the LogOutputPath argument for Dedicated Servers, now replaced with LocalOutputDir.
Changes
- A new backend infrastructure refactor has been implemented to improve server scalability, flexibility, and long-term support.
- Expected improvements include better lobby connectivity during high player activity.
