A new Fortnite update 18.40 update released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and PC. According to the official Fortnite 18.40 patch notes, the latest hotfix added the new Combat Pistol and improvements to the Sideways Rifle.
Previously, a major update added new features, new LTM modes, new changes, and much more. Unfortunately, since the later major update, players are facing several issues with the game.

COMBAT PISTOL: POWER WITH A KICK
Like the Combat Assault Rifle, the Combat Pistol sports a tight bullet spread and exceptional power. This power coincides with strong recoil, so it takes a savvy yielder to fire its full potential.
Combat Pistols can be found in Chests, on the ground, and from fishing. The standard Pistol has been vaulted as the Combat Pistol has been distributed throughout the Island.
THE SIDEWAYS RIFLE ENHANCED
The Sideways Rifle has seen some refinements! It now reaches its superpowered state (or “close to overheating” state) faster, stays there longer, and is more accurate. Pick one up and take advantage of these changes.

Fortnite added Naruto Shippuden to the game.
Bug Fixes
Impostors: Eliminated players cannot hear non-eliminated players during Discussion phase.
Battle Royale Top Fixes
Collection Book entries disappearing when using Performance mode.
Vehicles may desync when a player exits the vehicle.
Weapons may sometimes disappear from Chests and Supply Drops.
Creative Top Fixes
Multi-selecting and moving building to prop pieces will cause consistent misalignment
Save the World Top Fixes
- Fixed a bug where campfires above lv 130 are shown as 130
- Addressed a bug where players were unable to swap Hero Loadouts in the Lobby while using a controller.
- Fixed an issue where 4x missions do not show the 4x rewards.
- Addressed an issue where players may become invisible to other players after respawning.
