[Final Fantasy XIV] FFXIV patch 7.31 hotfix is available to download on PC, PS4(11.32), and PS5 players. According to the official FFXIV 7.31 patch notes, the latest update bringing the Cosmic Exploration Initiative to its next destination—the star of Phaenna—along with new quests to enhance Phantom Weapons. Today’s FF14 update 7.31 also includes various bug fixes and changes.

Playable Content

New Area: Phaenna

The Cosmic Exploration Initiative has expanded to a new star. Players can now travel to Phaenna.

How to Unlock: Complete the quest “Passion, Thy Name Is Ardorum” and then the new quest “Go Forth, Brave Explorers” in Sinus Ardorum (X:20.4 Y:20.0).
How to Travel:
- Use the Bestways Burrow aetheryte.
- Speak with Drivingway in Mare Lamentorum (X:21.9 Y:13.2).
- Speak with Cruisingway in Sinus Ardorum (X:20.6 Y:19.5) and select Phaenna.
Phaenna Credits: Earned from stellar missions and projects on Phaenna. Used to draw cosmic fortunes and exchange for mech op pilot applications. These replace Lunar Credits while on Phaenna.
Multiple Instances: To alleviate congestion, multiple field instances for Phaenna have been added and will be monitored.

Perspective Reflected
NPC: Ishgardian Glassworker // Phaenna (X:29.1 Y:13.6)

Keeping the Old Ways Alive
NPC: Lydirceil // The Phantom Village (X:6.6 Y:7.1)
Pre-req: Completion of “Forging the Phantasmal.”
Aether, Aether, Everywhere
NPC: Lydirceil // The Phantom Village (X:6.6 Y:7.1)
Pre-req: Completion of “Keeping the Old Ways Alive.”
Reward: Aetherwell Array (tracks enhancement progress).
Wrought by Hands Phantasmal
NPC: Lydirceil // The Phantom Village (X:6.6 Y:7.1)
Pre-req: Completion of “Aether, Aether, Everywhere.”
Reward: One enhanced Phantom Weapon for the job used to complete the quest.

Enhancing Additional Phantom Weapons:
After completing the questline, speak with Dodokkuli in The Phantom Village (X:6.7 Y:7.1) to exchange Allagan tomestones of heliometry for additional enhanced Phantom Weapons.

Note: Phantom weapon quests require you to use the same job from start to finish.

FATEs

A new item is available in exchange for Bicolor Gemstones from Rral Wuruq in Yak T’el.

Housing

New furnishings have been added.
New orchestrion rolls have been added.

The Manderville Gold Saucer

New Triple Triad cards have been added.

Miscellaneous

A new emote has been added.
New mounts, minions, and facewear have been added.
New achievements and titles have been added.
New music and sound effects have been added.
The multiple instances for Shaaloani, Heritage Found, Living Memory, and Lower Jeuno (added in 7.3) have been removed.

Battle System Adjustments

Palace of the Dead

Significant adjustments have been made to ease progression:

Silver Coffers:
- Minimum Aetherpool gear enhancement increased from +1 to +5.
- Success rate of enhancements from silver coffers (before floor 101) has been increased.
Boss Floors:
- Aetherpool gear enhancement from defeating a boss increased from +1 to +10.
- Enhancement is now guaranteed upon defeating a boss on every boss floor and upon completing floor 200.
Enemy Drops: Defeated enemies will now drop Sustaining Potions.

Cosmic Exploration Updates

Stellar Successes: Daily Success points are now converted to Phaenna Credits. A new category for Phaenna Standard Successes has been added.
Starward Standings: Tallying now based on contributions on Phaenna (missions, mech ops, projects). Check your standing with Scanningway (X:28.1 Y:12.6). Top contributors are honored as “Star Contributors” for 14 days.
Cosmic Tools: Class-specific tools for Disciples of the Hand and Land can now be enhanced by completing stellar missions to earn research data. Report to Researchingway to upgrade your tools.
Infrastructure Index: Now opens automatically upon project completion (can be disabled in Cosmic Exploration Settings).

PvP Adjustments

General action adjustments:

Purify & Recuperate: MP cost reduced from 2,500 to 2,000.

Job-Specific Adjustments:

Dark Knight: Salted Earth & Salt and Darkness DoT/HoT potency increased to 6,000. Salt and Darkness delay reduced.
Monk: Potency increased for Dragon Kick, Twin Snakes, Demolish, and beast-form actions. Phantom Rush no longer has damage fall-off on secondary targets. Earth’s Reply potency increased.
Dragoon: Geirskogul’s damage vulnerability debuff reduced from 25% to 15%.
Ninja: Fleeting Raiju Ready duration reduced from 10s to 5s.
Samurai: Meikyo Shisui duration reduced from 3s to 2s.
Viper: Backlash lifesteal reduced from 100% to 50%.
Bard: Encore of Light MP reduction reduced from 5,000 to 4,000.
Machinist: Max HP increased to 58,500. Scattergun potency increased to 8,000.
Dancer: Potency increased for Fountain, Fountainfall, and Fan Dance.
Black Mage: Xenoglossy lifesteal (above 50% HP) reduced to 50%. Wreath of Ice damage reduction reduced to 20%.
Summoner: Necrotize potency increased to 5,000.
Pictomancer: Max HP reduced to 54,000. Smudge recast time increased to 15s.
White Mage: Miracle of Nature MP reduction reduced to 1,000. Afflatus Purgation potency reduced to 16,000.
Scholar: Max HP reduced to 54,000.
Astrologian: Celestial River no longer reduces enemy healing potency.
Sage: Phlegma III potency increased to 10,000. Psyche potency at range increased to 8,000.

Items & System

New items and recipes have been added (lists to be published at a later date).
System Change: Hotbar icons for usable items (e.g., Phoenix Down) now appear grayed out if the target character is out of range.
The arrival coordinates when teleporting or returning to Bestways Burrow have been adjusted.

Resolved Issues

Framerate drops in certain Patch 7.3 dungeons. (PS5/PS4/Xbox only)
Attack radius issues in the San d’Oria: The Second Walk dungeon.
Lower-than-intended damage from Acceleration Bomb in Vault Oneiron.
Erroneous enemy spawns in the Shifting Altars of Uznair and related dungeons.
Duplicate log messages when obtaining Enlightenment silver/gold pieces.
German text appearing in Eureka Orthos on floors without demiclones. (English client)
PvP action (Creature Motif) becoming unusable in Crystalline Conflict rematches under specific conditions.
Certain PvP actions (Relentless Rush, Honing Dance) ignoring knockback effects in specific arenas.
Incorrect motion displays for certain PvE/PvP actions.
Display issues with Miqo’te ears when using the “Modern Aesthetics – Scion Special Issue IV” hairstyle with certain headgear.
Facial clipping issues with the Assassin’s Hood on female Viera.
Hotbar targeting issue with the Phoenix Down icon.
Orientation and effect alignment issues for certain enemies in Group Pose’s portrait mode.
A game client crash related to receiving chats or closing tutorials during specific quests.
An issue with the Character Settings backup feature downloading data incorrectly from before Patch 7.3.
Various other minor text issues.

Previously, a big FFXIV update 6.3 added two new jobs, reaper and sage, an increased level cap of 90, the new male Viera race, and so much more. Unfortunately, since the last major patch, players are facing a long list of bug fixes and gameplay changes.
