FFXIV 6.5 Patch Notes (FF14 Patch 6.5)

[Final Fantasy XIV] FFXIV patch 6.5 details released for PC, PS4(10.20), and PS5 players. According to the official FFXIV 6.5 patch notes, the “Growing Light” update introduces a wealth of new content and features. Notable additions include new main scenario quests, Chronicles of a New Era quests, side story quests, custom deliveries, and updates to the island sanctuary. Apart from this, today’s FF14 patch 6.5 also adds new chapters to the New Game+ feature.

Previously, a big FFXIV update 6.3 added two new jobs, reaper and sage, an increased level cap of 90, the new male Viera race, and so much more. Unfortunately, since the last major FFXIV patch 6.41, players are facing a long list of bug fixes and gameplay changes. Today’s FFXIV patch 6.5 (Ver 10.20) will address a few of these issues.

Playable Content

Quests

  • New Main Scenario Quests: As the level cap continues to rise, so does the epic tale. Players can now embark on new main scenario quests, including “Seeking the Light.” These quests will unfold in Radz-at-Han, opening up exciting new narratives for Disciples of War and Magic.

Myths of the Realm

  • Chronicles of a New Era: “Myths of the Realm” continues with “The Heart of the Myth.” This questline is designed for Disciples of War and Magic at level 90 and is located in Mor Dhona. Players must first complete the quest “The Secret of the Twelve” to access this thrilling content.

Side Story Quests

  • Wings of Hope: A new side story quest, “Wings of Hope,” is now available. This quest is open to adventurers of any class or job at level 1 and can be found in Old Sharlayan. To access it, players must first complete the trial “The Abyssal Fracture” and obtain various Lynx mounts.

Custom Deliveries

  • A Request of One’s Own: Crafters and gatherers will be pleased to know that new custom delivery content awaits. To participate, players must first complete the sidequest “Go West, Craftsman” and achieve a satisfaction level of 5 with Margrat.

Island Sanctuary

  • The Sweetest Thing: Level 1 adventurers can now engage in the sweetness of the Island Sanctuary by completing the side story quest “An Ideal Marriage” and enhancing their island sanctuary.

New Game+

  • New Chapters: More chapters have been added to New Game+. To unlock each chapter, adventurers must complete its final quest. Dive deeper into the game’s lore and history through these engaging storylines.

Items and Rewards

Treasure Hunt

  • New Items: Exciting new items are now available from certain gemstone traders, adding more allure to the treasure hunt experience.

Grand and Free Companies

  • Company Crests: Customize your Grand and Free Companies with new charge symbol options for your crests.

Housing

  • Furnishings: The FFXIV Furnishing Design Contest has contributed new furnishings to decorate your homes with style and flair. Explore the designs of talented architects and bring their creations into your world.

The Manderville Gold Saucer

  • Triple Triad: The Manderville Gold Saucer now offers new cards and NPC opponents for the ever-popular Triple Triad card game. Challenge your wits and build your card collection!

Island Sanctuary Expansions

The Island Sanctuary is not only a place of serenity but also a hub of activities. In this update, several expansions have been made:

  • Felicitous Favors: The felicitous furball offers new “felicitous favors” that task players with shipping certain handicrafts. Completing these within the designated period can earn adventurers unique rewards.
  • Sanctuary Rank Increase: The maximum sanctuary rank has been raised from 16 to 20, providing more opportunities for expansion and growth.
  • New Visions: Fresh visions have been added, enriching the experience of this tranquil paradise.
  • Isleworks Crafting: New crafting recipes and produce options enhance the variety of activities available on your island sanctuary.
  • Gathering Areas and Materials: Unlock new gathering areas and discover unique materials to further enrich your island’s resources.
  • New Animals: Explore the sanctuary’s biodiversity with the introduction of new animals to interact with and care for.
  • Landmark Rotation: Customize your island’s aesthetics by rotating landmarks in 90/180-degree increments, allowing for more creative arrangements.
  • New Gathering Points: Seek out fresh gathering points and materials to continue your journey of self-sufficiency.

With these additions and expansions, the Island Sanctuary becomes an even more captivating destination for adventurers seeking a tranquil escape from their epic quests.

Battle System Adjustments

Job Changes

The battle system receives several adjustments in Patch 6.5, with various jobs getting enhancements:

  • Gladiator / Paladin: Several actions, including Circle of Scorn and Requiescat, have had their potencies increased, making Paladins an even more formidable presence on the battlefield.
  • Reaper: The Reaper job sees improvements, with increased potency for actions like Gluttony and Lemure’s Slice.
  • Bard: The Bard class gains more power with increased potency for Empyreal Arrow and Sidewinder.
  • Red Mage: Red Mages can unleash even more potent spells with increased potencies for Verfire, Verstone, Contre Sixte, Jolt II, Verflare, Verholy, and Enchanted Reprise.

These job changes are sure to keep the combat experience fresh and exciting for adventurers of all classes.

Miscellaneous Additions

Duty Finder and Raid Finder

The Duty Finder and Raid Finder now offer new duties and adjustments:

  • New Dungeons: The Lunar Subterrane and The Abyssal Fracture have been added to provide challenging experiences for Disciples of War and Magic at level 90.
  • New Trial: Face the challenges of “The Abyssal Fracture,” a level 90 trial with a party size of eight players. Conquer this trial by first completing the main scenario quest.
  • The Singularity Reactor (Unreal): This Unreal trial has replaced Containment Bay Z1T9 (Unreal), providing a fresh and exciting challenge for players at level 90 and an average item level of 640 or above.

PvP Enhancements

PvP Profile

  • Crystalline Conflict Rewards: A notification message now reminds players of unclaimed seasonal rewards in the PvP Profile window.
  • PvP Help: Access PvP assistance easily from the “?” button within the PvP Profile window.
  • Series 5: A new PvP series, Series 5, begins, offering opportunities to earn Series EXP and unlock various Series rewards. Make your mark in the Crystalline Conflict arena!
  • The PvP Profile system sees enhancements, including notifications for unclaimed Crystalline Conflict seasonal rewards and easy access to PvP help.
  • Series 5 begins, allowing players to earn Series EXP and unlock rewards by participating in PvP duties, while Series 4 rewards can be claimed until the end of Series 5.
  • Crystalline Conflict undergoes changes, including the addition of a circle indicator for the losing team and various adjustments to the Progress Gauge.
  • New items and recipes are introduced, expanding crafting and gameplay possibilities.
  • Gender restrictions are lifted for equippable items, such as Omega-F Attire, Omega-F Earrings, Omega-M Attire, and Omega-M Ear Cuffs.
  • The armoire system is enhanced to allow storage of items from the Online Store, display categories, and enable glamours directly from the interface.
  • Crafting enthusiasts will find improvements in the crafting log, custom delivery recipes, and equipment exchange options.
  • Gathering and fishing receive updates, introducing new gathering points, collectable bonuses, and changes to aetherial reduction.
  • Players can look forward to new mounts, chocobo barding, minions, and a fashionable accessory.
  • Field instances are added to alleviate server congestion in areas like Amh Araeng, the Rak’tika Greatwood, and Radz-at-Han.
  • Retainers receive attention, with new items available through quick exploration ventures and new retainer exploration ventures.
  • Certain actions, such as desynthesis and glamours, are now restricted during battle.
  • Achievements and titles receive updates, featuring new additions and adjustments for players to strive for.
  • The in-game shops offer a more user-friendly experience, with recent item viewing options and conditional item marking.

  • Numerous bug fixes and minor graphical and text issue corrections ensure a smoother and more polished gaming experience.

Bug Fixes

  • An issue wherein stacks of the Blood Weapon status effect granted by the dark knight PvE action Blood Weapon were consumed even when executing certain actions that did not inflict damage on targets.
  • An issue wherein the recast timer of the PvE role action Peloton was incorrect under certain circumstances.
  • An issue wherein players using the gunbreaker PvP action Draw and Junction on a target under the effect of Cover were granted the effect of Junction Tank regardless of the target’s actual role.
  • An issue during the duties Alexander – the Cuff of the Son and Alexander – the Burden of the Son wherein the enemy action Height Error had no effect under certain circumstances.
  • An issue during the trials Containment Bay Z1T9 and Containment Bay Z1T9 (Extreme) wherein players who were standing on falling platforms remained floating on the field rather than drop.
  • An issue during the instanced duties Eureka and the Bozjan Southern Front wherein the status effect Rapid Recast did not affect certain abilities under certain circumstances.
  • An issue wherein the healing over time effect of Spick-and-span, granted by the blue mage action Deep Clean, was not affected by the increased healing potency effect of the blue mage action Basic Instinct.
  • An issue during the duty Anabaseios: The Twelfth Circle (Savage) wherein the enemy action Aspect Effect was executed at the incorrect time under certain conditions.
  • An issue in the deep dungeons Heaven-on-High and Eureka Orthos wherein scores recorded after changing one’s Home World were not reflected on the Lodestone rankings page.
  • An issue when viewing the Agenda Presets window in the island sanctuary wherein players could not move the cursor to the cancel button using a gamepad or keyboard.
  • An issue when using group pose in the island sanctuary wherein mammets would appear even when selecting “Hide All” under Character Display Settings.
  • An issue wherein the graphics of certain gear did not display correctly.
  • An issue wherein the glowing effects of certain weapons did not display correctly.
  • An issue wherein a descriptor was missing from the help text of Manderville weapons.
  • An issue wherein using a Calligraph with an angler’s canvas results in graphics that display incorrectly.
  • An issue when initiating group pose after using a fashion accessory wherein the character motion when using the fashion accessory item would play on loop.
  • An issue when initiating group pose while using a fashion accessory wherein the “change pose” motion for unsheathed weapons would not play.
  • An issue when viewing the Gathering Log wherein the order of items displayed under the Splendorous Tools category was incorrect.
  • An issue wherein players could not land with flying mounts at certain sightseeing log locations in the Dravanian Hinterlands.
  • An issue after registering to join a duty wherein players can issue a request for gear repairs after selecting to commence said duty.
  • An issue wherein the graphics of the Circular Geometry adventurer plate did not display correctly.
  • An issue wherein the error message displayed when attempting to use a PlayStation🄬Plus free destination with an expired PlayStation🄬Plus subscription was incorrect.
