[Elder Scrolls Online] ESO version 2.44 is rolling out on PS4, PS5 (1.010), and Xbox One. According to the official ESO 2.44 patch notes, the latest update fixed combat-related issues. Apart from this, ESO update 2.44 also resolves several Crown Crate Motifs that could not be converted into gems, a crash that was caused by Occlusion Culling Beta, and more.
Previously, a major ESO update 36 added Legacy of the Bretons adventure: Firesong DLC to the game where you can explore the island of Galen and dive deep into the culture and histories of Tamriel’s druids. While doing so, collect new item sets, unique collectibles, Antiquities, achievements, and more. The upcoming ESO update 38 details also been released.
Unfortunately, players are reporting several problems with the game. Today’s ESO version 2.44 will solve a few of these problems. Check out more details below.

[Elder Scrolls Online] ESO 2.44 Patch Notes – April 25, 2023
Combat
- Fixed an issue where animations would fail to play if immediately activated after breaking free.
- Note: This fix will reintroduce the issue where attempting to Break Free a knock back ability may fail to play the Break Free animation.
Weapons
- One Hand and Shield
- Shield Wall: Fixed an issue where this Ultimate and its morphs could lose their effects after activating sprint.
- Fixed an issue where break free/interrupt would not register when pressing multiple buttons.
- Fixed an issue in Gamepad Mode where some button states would block actions triggered by other buttons.
Art
- The loadscreen that featured Naryu will no longer have her head cut off by the black textured border.
General
- Fixed an issue where Hide Helm incorrectly hid the Mercymother’s Coronet adornment.
Visual Effects
- Fixed an issue where the green visual effects on the Euphotic Gatekeeper Maul were offset from the item.
Crafting
- Fixed an issue where some enchantments could become stronger than intended.
- Note: The tooltip will still reflect the incorrect enchantment values on affected items and will be fixed in a future patch.

General
- Fixed an issue where the Bitter Coast Recall Customized Action was not playing the new recall animation.
Customized Actions
- Fixed an issue with the “Bitter Coast Recall” Customized Action where escalating wayshrine fees were not correctly being applied.
UI
General
- Made some updates to the in-game profanity filter.
- Fixed the following Motifs and Furnishings that could not be converted into gems, listed below with their intended gem value:
- Crown Crafting Motif 67: Welkynar Style – 33 gem value
- Crown Crafting Motif 55: Dreadhorn Style – 33 gem value
- Orb of the Spirit Queen – 33 gem value
- Reach Chandelier, Hagraven – 13 gem value
- Rite of the Harrowforged – 13 gem value
Customized Actions
- Fixed an issue with the “Bitter Coast Recall” Customized Action where escalating wayshrine fees were not correctly being applied.
Miscellaneous
- Fixed an issue with the Occlusion Culling Beta if the system failed to initialize properly, it would crash the game client.
- Fixed a rare issue where it was possible to not receive all the Ancient Dragon Hunter collectibles through Amazon Prime Gaming.
