Escape From Tarkov Update 0.16.5 Patch Notes (EFT 0.16.5)

A new Escape From Tarkov update 0.16.5 is now available to download on PC(Steam). According to the official Tarkov patch notes, the latest update brings audio balancing, flashlight glare adjustments, and new stash and crafting options. Apart from this Escape From Tarkov patch 16.5 also addresses sound issues, UI errors, and PvE performance.

Previously, a major update added a new character model, emotes, and an improved tutorial. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing several issues. Today’s EFT patch 16.5 will fix a few of these issues. Read more details below.

Tarkov Patch 0.16.5 Notes – March 27, 2025

Patch 0.14.5.0

Audio

  • Rebalanced wind and rain volume.

  • Reduced first- and third-person looting sounds.

  • Increased the audible radius of player movement.

  • Reduced the reverb effect in various locations.

  • Equalized volume levels for all headsets and adjusted sound differences between active and non-active headsets.

Graphics

  • Improved flashlight glare system—multiple flashlights on a weapon no longer cause excessive blinding at close range.

Balancing

  • New key storage case added to stash, available for purchase at Therapist Loyalty Level 1 and 2.

  • New crafting recipes added to the Intelligence Center in the Hideout.

  • Ammunition changes: All ammunition no longer retains the “Found in Raid” status.

AI

  • Regular Scavs will now play a voice line before attacking an enemy at close range when within the player’s limited line of sight.

Fixes

Audio Fixes

  • Fixed pain sounds not playing when interacting with environmental hazards (barbed wire, fire, toxins, etc.).

  • Fixed vegetation sounds not playing for other players.

  • Fixed multiple sound occlusion issues on different locations.

Gameplay Fixes

  • Fixed game client freezing after ending a raid with Mip Streaming enabled.

  • Fixed animation freeze when reloading IWI UZI and PPSh-41 in certain cases.

  • Fixed skill leveling exhaustion not resetting in PvE offline raids.

  • Fixed incorrect item stack behavior when dragging to containers with an incomplete stack of the same item.

  • Fixed error 257 when trying to unpack a loot container.

  • Fixed multiple tabs appearing when searching containers in certain situations.

  • Fixed display of saved equipment presets in PvE mode.

  • Fixed incorrect water filter consumption at the Water Collector.

  • Fixed an issue where Hideout construction wouldn’t complete if a player waited in the Hideout during the timer.

  • Fixed incorrect weight of 9×21 ammo.

  • Fixed missing explosion damage when using the AGS grenade launcher in PvE mode.

  • Fixed prestige icons not displaying correctly in the post-raid screen, character screen, and lobby screen.

  • Fixed long loading times and raid progress resets in PvE mode in some cases.

  • Fixed container block activation when using hotkeys to rename containers.

  • Fixed an issue where ballistic plates required for stash tasks would be consumed directly from equipped armor vests or plate carriers.

Map & AI Fixes

  • Multiple fixes for culling and geometry issues on various locations.

  • Multiple fixes for AI behavior mechanics.
