A new Escape From Tarkov update 0.16.0 is now available to download on PC(Steam). According to the official Tarkov patch notes, the latest update brings new in game event (Christmas Time) and changed the in game weather to winter. Apart from this Escape From Tarkov patch 0.16.0 also includes quality of life changes and fixes.
Previously, a major update added a new character model, emotes, and an improved tutorial. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing several issues. Today’s EFT patch 16.0 will fix a few of these issues. Read more details below.

New in-game event “Christmas Time”
A new in-game event “Christmas Time” has started, featuring a festive atmosphere, themed tasks, and unique rewards.
Players can receive numerous rewards for completing the new task line:
- Unique in-game achievement “Christmas Time”;
- Achievement rewards:
- BEAR Winter clothing (Upper and Lower);
- USEC Winter clothing (Upper and Lower).
- New festive items: headwear, masks, and other accessories.
During the event, players can transfer the Christmas gifts and ornaments from EFT: Arena to EFT. The ornaments will be available as rewards for completing daily and weekly tasks.
Winter weather season
Changed the in-game season to Winter:
- Fort, Bay 5, Block and Chop Shop have received a new snowy look;
- Winter locations are available for selection in all game modes, including Ranked mode.
Equator update
- Completely reworked the lighting on the location;
- Reworked the location geometry;
- Optimized the performance on the location for all hardware setups.
In the future, we plan to gradually update all the existing locations for better gameplay.
Fort in CheckPoint and TeamFight
We are closely monitoring player feedback and have decided to add the following adjustments to Fort in CheckPoint mode:
- Expanded both team respawn areas;
- Reworked the geometry on location to allow for more flanking routes from respawn points.
Fort is now also available in TeamFight mode.
Balancing changes
- Changed the V40 grenade fuze time from 3 to 2.5 seconds;
- Unlocked the following ammo:
- Assault:
- 5.45х39 BP;
- 7.62х39 BP.
- Scout:
- 5.45х39 BS;
- 4.6х30 AP SX.
- Marksman:
- 5.45х39 7N39;
- 7.62х39 MAI AP;
- .338 Lapua Magnum AP.
- Assault:
- Reduced the MP cost for 5.45×39 and 7.62×39 weapons by 10-30%;
- Enforcer – increased the defense metascore bar by 1000 MP;
- SWORD Mk-18 .338 LM is no longer available in presets;
- P22 stimulant – changed the MP cost to 117;
- eTG-change stimulant – no longer available for:
- Assault;
- Enforcer.

- Increased the maximum stack size for GP coins to 100;
- Items from the following loot crates now have the Found in Raid status in EFT:
- Unlocked equipment crate (Rare);
- Unlocked valuables crate (Rare);
- Unlocked supply crate (Rare);
- Unlocked weapon crate (Rare).
Experience and task balance
- Reduced the amount of experience for weapons in the Armory;
- Reduced the amount of experience received after a match;
- Increased the difficulty of daily and weekly tasks;
- Reduced the amount of experience for daily and weekly tasks;
- Reduced the amount of GP coins and roubles for daily and weekly tasks;
- Reduced the number of GP coins and roubles received in all game modes.
Armory
- Increased the price for unlocking certain equipment;
- Changed the unlock conditions for certain equipment;
- Rebalanced the unlocking of certain equipment.
Collectible presets compensation
For players with Ryzhy Edition, instead of Ryzhy’s collectible preset, his items have been added to the Armory and Tactical Clothing. This equipment is available for custom presets.
- Tactical clothing:
- Ryzhy’s Gorka;
- Ryzhy’s pants.
- IDEA DIY rig;
- Ryzhy’s balaclava.
Players who previously owned the Deputy preset will receive the following items in the Armory:
- Rolled up hat.
Players who previously owned the Athlete preset will receive the following items in the Armory:
- Twitch Rivals 2020 glasses;
- Rivals 2020 hat;
- PACA Soft Armor (Rivals Edition).
Fixes and improvements that are not included in the current update, but are listed in the estimated plan of updates until the end of 2024, will be included in the upcoming Escape from Tarkov: Arena updates in 2025.

- Fixed the culling issues on Bowl, Fort, and Skybridge;
