Dying Light 2 update 1.53 (1.17.2) is available to download on PS4, PC, Xbox and PS5(1.052). According to the official Dying Light 2 version 1.53 patch notes, the latest update fixes co-op crashes, restores Fast Travel icons and resolves purchase and claim issues. Apart from his Dying Light 2 patch 1.53 also addresses multiple Tower Raid bugs, ensuring a smoother gameplay experience.
Dying Light 2 1.53 Patch Notes (1.17.2) – July 4, 2024
General Fixes:
- Co-op Crash: Fixed a crash occurring when one player throws an explosive and another fires the Spitfire Shotgun simultaneously.
- Fast Travel Icons: Resolved disappearing Fast Travel icons for Downtown and Floating Fortress Metro Stations after sleeping.
- Scorpio Purchase: Fixed the issue preventing players from buying the Scorpio from Jai.
- Free Items Claim: Players can now claim free items if their account never had DL points.
- Game Progression: Fixed an issue where dropping from a co-op session might cause game progression to not save until a reload.
Tower Raid Fixes:
- Dialogue Cutoff: Fixed Jai’s ending dialogue cutting off after completing a Tower Raid.
- Translation Fixes: Corrected VO translation of the floor number in several languages.
- Bounties Issues: Fixed several problematic bounties in Tower Raid.
- Intro Quest Localization: Fixed missing localization for the Tower Raid intro quest in multiple languages.
- Accessory Description: Corrected the description of The Black Scarab accessory regarding its charging methods.
- Weapon Damage: Adjusted the damage of guns found in Tower Raid to match those purchasable from Jai.
- Status VFX: Fixed the Black Scarab’s status VFX to match the Talon of Horus.
- Endless Loot Glitch: Fixed a glitch allowing endless looting of Tower Raid chests.
- Elevator Sound: Fixed an issue with the Tower Raid elevator sound not stopping for peers.
- HUD Modifier: Resolved sometimes missing modifiers on the HUD in Tower Raid.
- Extinguisher Damage: Fixed an issue with Tower Raid extinguishers dealing excessive damage.
Platform-Specific Fixes:
- Quick Join Issue: Fixed an issue with players sometimes unable to join each other using Quick Join in the Main Menu on Xbox platforms.
Visual and Inventory Fixes:
- PK Hammerbasher Skin: PK Hammerbasher now properly reflects its skin in the 3D preview from the inventory.
Previous Dying Light 2 Update
Previously, a major Dying Light 2 patch 1.34 added a new Bloody Ties DLC. Unfortunately, some players are still facing bugs and various issues with the coop and multiplayer. Today’s DL2 update 1.53 will fix a few of these issues.
