How to manually update PS4 system software?
PS4 System Software
- Connect to the Internet: Ensure your PS4 is online.
- Go to Settings: From the home screen, select “Settings” (toolbox icon).
- Select System Software Update: Scroll down and choose “System Software Update.”
- Update via Internet: Select “Update Using Internet” to check for updates.
- Install the Update: If an update is available, select “Next,” agree to the terms, and start the download. After downloading, select “Yes” to install. Your PS4 will restart during the process.
Update from PC
- On a USB drive formatted as FAT32, create a folder named “PS4,” then inside it, create a folder named “UPDATE.”
- Download the update file and save it in the “UPDATE” folder as “PS4UPDATE.PUP.”
- Plug the USB into your PS4.
- Start the PS4 in Safe Mode by holding the power button until you hear two beeps.
- Select “Update System Software,” then “Update from USB Storage Device” and press “OK.”
