Destiny 2 update 3.54 (Patch 8.5.2.1) is rolling out on PS4, PC, PS5(1.149.000), Xbox One, and PC players. According to the Destiny 2 update 3.54 patch notes, the latest update improves Crucible rank rewards, fixes matchmaking issues, and resolves bugs in Trials of Osiris, raids, weapons, and abilities. Apart from this, Destiny 2 patch Patch 8.5.2.1 also resolves exploits in Sundered Doctrine.

Activities
Crucible
Competitive
- Increased the granularity of the performance bonus for Rank rewards, leading to more frequent positive point gains.
- Performance bonus max increased from +10 to +20.
- Contribution scalar max increased from +50 to +60.
Matchmaking
- Fixed an issue where smurf protection was applied incorrectly to returning high-ranked players, causing unfair matchmaking.
Trials of Osiris
- Fixed a bug where the double loot modifier was applied twice to post-game Adept weapon drops.
Raids and Dungeons
Sundered Doctrine
- Fixed an exploit where players could defeat the final boss using pressure doors.
- Fixed an issue preventing alternate characters from collecting class items after completing the quest.
- Characters with no focus set can now collect class items.
- Characters with a focus set must set it to the class item before collection.
Episode: Heresy – Court of Blades
- Fixed an issue where Ritual of Greed armament pickups could be collected by players who hadn’t purchased them.
Gameplay and Investment
Weapons
- Adjusted Temptation’s Hook to match modern Caster Frame Swords.
Exotic Weapons
- Slayer’s Fang now correctly stops Overload Champions’ health regeneration.
- Fixed an issue where Barrow Dyad couldn’t be crafted if the fourth intrinsic was unlocked.
Weapon Perks
- Subjugation origin trait now correctly exhausts boss, miniboss, and Champion combatants.
- Explosive Payload damage now scales correctly with perks like Magnificent Howl and Master of Arms.
Abilities
- Fixed an issue where players could spawn infinite Orbs of Power with no cooldown after using a Relic.
Artifact
- Piercing Sidearms perk from Tablet of Ruin now properly pierces all shield types.
General Fixes
- Renamed “Winged Victory” Holochip to “Taking Flight” to avoid confusion with the ship of the same name.
- Triumphant ornament no longer requires Season Pass ownership to purchase.
- “Taking Flight” Holochip tooltip now properly indicates if it has been previously purchased.
Previously, Destiny 2 update 7.1 changes for the economy, weapon sandbox, abilities, exotic armor, quality of life, crucible, and enemy elemental shields. Today’s Destiny 2 update 3.54 will fix a few of these issues.
