Dead Cells update 1.51 is rolling out on PS4, Xbox One and PC (Steam). According to the official Dead Cell patch notes, the latest Boss Rush update added new changes, fixes and improvements. Apart from this, today’s Dead Cells patch 1.51 also includes stability fixes.
Previously, a major ‘Breaking Barriers’ update added loads of new options to improve accessibility, such as adjustable font type & size, input customization and individual adjustment of sound effect volumes. Unfortunately, since the last patch, players are facing a number of problems with the game. Today’s Dead Cells version 1.51 will fix a few of these issues.

New Cursed Content
New Cursed Mobs
- Sore Loser: Annoying but harmless, curses you upon defeat.
- Doom Bringer: Applies 2 curse stacks with each melee attack and stuns. Instant death if curse stacks reach 50.
- Curser: Launches slow homing projectiles and inflicts 5 curse stacks. Can also melee attack.
Cursed Biomes
- Available in Boss Cell Level 2+ runs.
- Icon indicated at biome exits.
- Contains 9 (+/-2) cursed mobs from the new mob pool.
- Rewards: Items drop 1 gear level higher, and cursed chest spawn rate increases by 10%.
- Cursed biome cap per BC level (BC 2-5): 2, 3, 5, and 8 respectively.
- At least one non-cursed biome is always available.
New Weapons and Mutations
New Weapons
- Anathema: Fires AOE projectiles, curses the player if an attack hits.
- Indulgence: Calls down rays of light, purges curse stacks upon enemy kill.
- Misericorde: Critical hits on enemies below 50% HP, curses player if the crit doesn’t kill.
New Mutations (Colorless)
- Cursed Flask: Infinite flask charges, each use curses you 20 times.
- Damned Vigor: Survive fatal damage at 1 HP for 2 seconds; killing an enemy saves you.
- Demonic Strength: Increases damage based on curse stacks, with an additional bonus for Cursed Sword users.
Legendary Weapon Reworks
- Flawless: Killing after being hit enables crits.
- Gold Digger: Crit multiplier scales with gold.
- Punishment: AOE effect recasts if it kills.
- Rampart: Reflects damage received under shield’s force field.
- Cocoon: Parrying reduces cooldown.
- Emergency Door: Door becomes indestructible.
- Bone: Extends whirlwind attack duration.
- Wrenching Whip: Throws 3 crow’s feet on first attack.
- Explosive Decoy: Resets cooldown if no targets are hit.
- Barrel Launcher: Adjusted affix.
- Leghugger: Summons 2 Leghuggers.
- Assault Shield: Charged dash available.
- Ice Shards: Projectiles bounce twice.
- Quick Bow: Crits refill ammo.
- Bladed Tonfas: Focus on first attack of combo.
- Grappling Hook: Fires a chain behind.
- Tesla Coil and Lightning Rods: Double use with individual cooldowns.
Biome Routing Changes
New routing
- We’ve also changed the connections between biomes:
- Added an exit to Master’s Keep in High Peak Castle.
- Added exits to Corrupted Prison and Ossuary in Castle’s Outskirts.
- Added an exit to Dracula’s Castle (early) in Corrupted Prison and Toxic Sewers.
- Added an exit to Black Bridge in Dracula’s Castle (early).
- Added an exit to Defiled Necropolis in Ossuary.
- Replaced the exit to Fractured Shrines in Defiled Necropolis by an exit to Graveyard.
- Added a light source in the Mimic Hint lore room, when it spawns in Forgotten Sepulcher.
- Added an exit to Dracula’s Castle (late) in Mausoleum, Guardian’s Haven and Clock Room.
Accessibility Improvements
- New control icons: “Legacy”, “New”, and “Big”.
- Improved visibility: Adjusted boss arrow opacity and text backgrounds.
- New input options: Platform traversal and stick deadzone customization.
- Reworked auto-hit assist mode.
- Additional camera behavior settings, including movement and combat influence.
- Option to invert player and camera movement.
- Button to center the minimap on the player.
The following changes were added previously.
- New game mode: Boss Rush!There is a new area, accessible through the basement door in Prisoner’s Quarters where you access the Training Room and the Tailor. Once you’ve gone through the basement door, just follow the corridor until you come to the third door with the red boss head next to it.Through this door, you’ll find another 4 doors, leading to 4 different stages where you will fight:

- Added new Bosses ModifiersIn the door 2 and 4 of the Boss Rush, you will fight Bosses with Modifiers, which means we’ve given them even more ways to kick your ass. Think extra limbs, healing powers, buddies to help them kill you.All the good stuff!
- New customizable StatueYou’ve got a fan, and they’re making a statue of you! Unlock statue parts as you progress through theBoss Rush, and use them to make your own customized sculpture.
- New Ranged Weapon: Glyphs of Peril– The lower your health, the more attacks this weapon has in its combo (up to 7 hits). Crits from the third hit onwards.
- New Skill: Taunt– Enrage the enemy right in front of you, causing them to attack and move quicker, but also take more melee damage.
- New Mutation: Wish– Wish for a great item and you’ll get it! The next one you pick will be upgraded to Legendary quality. Only one use, and this mutation get locked in your loadout once it triggers, though.
- 8 new Outfits, unlocked through theBoss Rush.
Balancing
- New/updated Legendary affixes:
- Spartan Sandals: Super Bump(New affix: greatly increases the knockback of the weapon)
- Oil Sword: Oil on Kill(New affix: spreads oil on the ground on kill)
- Flint: Instant Charge(New affix: all attacks are fully charged without needing to hold the button)
- Katana: Deflect Bullets(New affix: all uncharged attacks deflect bullet (but not grenades))
- Killing Deck: Random Effect(New affix: every card applies a random debuff on targets)
- Money Shooter: Pay to win(New affix: refund the shot’s cost if it kills a target + innate super pierce. Can trigger multiple times if a shot kills several enemies.)
- Bump Shield: Super Bump
- Shockwave: Super Bump
- Pollo Power: Miracle of Life(New affix: eggs hatch into chicks that attack nearby enemies)
