Dead by Daylight update 9.000.001 is available to download on PS5, PC, and Xbox One. According to the official DBD update 9.000.000 patch notes, the latest DBD update 9.0 introduces The Animatronic with a teleporting axe-based playstyle, a new map, and extensive system reworks like spawn logic, disconnection penalties, and perk balance across Killers and Survivors. Apart from this, DBD patch 9.000.001 also includes stability fixes.

Dead by Daylight Patch Summary – New Killer: The Animatronic & Major System Updates

  • New Killer Added: The Animatronic brings a new power, Fazbear’s Fright, with teleporting and aura-revealing mechanics.

  • Map Added: Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza now available, with Security Doors and Cameras offering new strategic options.

  • Quality of Life Enhancements: Auto Bloodweb, reworked AFK crows, disconnect penalties, and spawn logic improvements.

Killer Power: Fazbear’s Fright

  • Weapon: Fire Axe — throwable weapon embeds in Survivors, blocks healing until removed.

  • Map Feature: Security System — 7 random Security Doors with Cameras appear.

    • Survivors can cycle camera views and teleport to viewed doors.

    • Overuse drains battery; recharge needed to reuse system.

    • Animatronic can teleport freely, even grabbing Survivors using the door.

Help Wanted

  • Damaged Generator becomes Compromised (only one at a time).

  • Completing the Compromised Gen grants 25% faster basic attack cooldowns for 40/50/60s.

Phantom Fear

  • Survivors within Terror Radius scream and reveal aura for 2s when looking at you.

  • 80/70/60s cooldown.

Haywire

  • Exit gates with 80%+ progress regress at 80/90/100% of opening speed.

  • Flickering lights indicate regression.


New Map: Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza

  • New themed map added.

  • Includes interactive Security Doors and cameras as part of Animatronic gameplay.


Quality of Life Improvements

AFK Crow System Update

  • AFK after 10s of inactivity.

  • Crows (1 to 3) spawn based on AFK points.

  • After 90s, causes Loud Noise alerts and temporary collision loss.

  • Disabled during Hatch or End Game Collapse.

Bloodweb Spending

  • Auto Bloodweb unlocked after first Prestige.

  • Tutorial pop-ups now shown only once across all characters.

Disconnection Penalties

  • Based on last 20 matches.

  • Penalties reduce through clean matches, not by time.

Gamma Setting

  • Gamma calibration popup on first launch.

  • Accessible anytime in Graphics Settings.

“Going Next” Prevention

  • Intentional early deaths now penalized.

  • Disconnect penalty + 1 full grade lost.

  • Attempt Unhook limited to specific situations.

  • Letting skill checks pass no longer instantly kills.

  • Abandoned BP reward increased from 600 → 2000.


Killer Gameplay Updates

  • All spells now available at trial start.

Previously, a big Dead by Daylight update 5.4.0 was released which added a new Killer (The Onryō) and a new survivor (Yoichi Asakawa). Unfortunately, players are facing various issues with the game. Today’s Dead by Daylight patch 9.000.001 will address a few of these issues.
