Dead by Daylight Update 8.600 Patch Notes (DBD v8.6.0)

Dead by Daylight update 8.600 (version 8.600.000) is rolling out on PS5, PC, and Xbox One. According to the official DBD update 8.600 patch notes, The Ghoul joins the Fog with Kagune Leap and Enraged Mode, plus three new perks. Blood Moon Event returns April 7, and Chaos Shuffle starts April 29. Scratch Marks improved for better tracking, and a Surrender option lets players keep some progress when forfeiting a match. Apart from this, DBD patch 8.600 also includes a long list adjustments and bug fixes.

New Killer: The Ghoul

Power: EYED TERROR – Kagune Leap

  • Kagune Leap (Special Ability):
    • Charge and launch tentacles to latch onto vertical surfaces, pulling The Ghoul forward.
    • After leaping, perform a second leap or trigger a cooldown.
    • Cooldown triggers after:
      • Using both leaps.
      • Leaping over vaults/pallets.
      • Grabbing a Survivor.
  • Grab-Attack Mechanics:
    • Healthy Survivors: Inflict damage, Deep Wound, and apply a Kagune Mark.
    • Marked Survivors: Cannot be grabbed again. Marks fade when fully mended or downed.
    • Triggers Enraged Mode on successful grab.
  • Enraged Mode:
    • Perform 3 consecutive leaps (vs. 2 normally).
    • Leap over vaults faster when targeting Survivors.
    • Active while Kagune Marked Survivors exist.
    • Countdown Timer: Starts when no marked Survivors remain.
      • Extend timer with perfectly timed grab-attacks (tap attack button when icon appears).
      • Timer pauses while carrying Survivors.

New Killer Perks

  1. Hex: Nothing But Misery
    • After 8 basic attack hits, a dull totem becomes hexed.
    • Effect: Survivors hit by basic attacks gain 5% Hindered for 10/12.5/15 seconds.
    • Lasts until hex totem is cleansed.
  2. Forever Entwined
    • Gain 1 token (max 6/7/8) each time a Survivor takes damage.
    • Effect: +4% speed to pick up, drop, and hook per token.
  3. None Are Free
    • Gain 1 token (max 4) per first hook.
    • Effect: When gens are done, block all windows/pallets for 12/14/16 seconds per token.

  • Blood Moon Event: Returns April 7 (11 AM ET) with new Tome.

1. Surrender Option

  • Retain Bloodpoints, XP, challenges, and emblems. No penalty if:
    • Killer: All Survivors are bots, or no gens done in 10 minutes.
    • Survivor: All others are bots, or all Survivors are dying.

  • The Nurse’s position no longer changes upon ending a Blink near collisions.
  • Survivors now correctly play the screaming animation when triggered by any means.
  • The Nemesis add-on “Depleted Ink Ribbon” no longer makes Zombies reappear for a brief moment after being killed inside the Exit Gate.
  • Tier 2 is now consistently charged if the Tombstone Piece Mini-Mori is done while Tier 3 is ending for The Shape.
  • Survivors Unhooked by Bots no longer remain in a floating animation.
  • Xenomorph’s Burn vignette now fades out when exiting Crawler mode by picking up a Survivor.
  • Survivor’s animation and interaction progress bar no longer lingers after unlocking the Mastermind’s and Nemesis’ Crates.
  • Teleporting Survivors no longer cause their model to jitter and slide back to their original location when performing interactions.
  • The active Cruel Limits duration radial timer direction is now consistent and depletes in a clockwise direction.

The Ghoul

  • The Ghoul’s Kakugan Reticle no longer rotates when pointing at the ground while rotating the camera.
  • Survivors no longer become immobile after dropping a pallet on The Ghoul when the latter is attempting to perform a grab-attack.
  • The Ghoul is no longer able to Leap Grab a Survivor during the dying state animation, preventing the associated issues.
  • The Ghoul’s power now reloads properly when used a second time.
  • The Ghoul’s input prompt over the power icon now updates to the current prompt.
  • The Ghoul’s score event Become Enraged is no longer earned when performing a direct grab in enraged mode.
  • The Kagune Swipe score event is now earned when The Ghoul does not reach the survivor on the first swing.
  • The prompt no longer remains on screen when a Survivor attempts to blind The Ghoul during a failed grab-attack QTE.
  • The grab Cooldown SFX no longer persists after performing a Pallet Vault with The Ghoul’s power.
  • Damaging a survivor with a tentacle grab now removes Play With Your Food tokens for The Ghoul.
  • Damaging the obsession with a tentacle grab now removes Save The Best For Last tokens for The Ghoul.

Previously, a big Dead by Daylight update 5.4.0 was released which added a new Killer (The Onryō) and a new survivor (Yoichi Asakawa). Unfortunately, players are facing various issues with the game. Today’s Dead by Daylight patch 8.600 will address a few of these issues.
