Dead by Daylight update 8.400.200 details are now available for PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox One. According to the official DBD update 8.400.200 patch notes, the latest update improves The Houndmaster’s abilities, rebalances Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, and fixes key issues across maps, perks, and characters. Apart from this, DBD patch 8.400.200 also brings back Chaos Shuffle event.

Killer Updates
The Houndmaster – Basekit
- Chase Command cooldown: Reduced to 3 seconds (was 4 seconds).
- Movement speed recovery after canceling Chase Command: Increased to 1 second (was 0.85 seconds).
- Movement speed penalty after canceling Chase Command: Reduced to 3.0 m/s (was 2.0 m/s).
- Dog hitbox size: Increased to 0.65 meters (was 0.5 meters).
- Dog vault time for windows and pallets: Reduced to 0.45 seconds (was 0.9 seconds).
- Chase Command camera transition:
- From Houndmaster to Dog (Redirect): Reduced to 0.15 seconds (was 0.25 seconds).
- From Dog to Houndmaster (end of Redirect): Reduced to 0.15 seconds (was 0.25 seconds).
- Dog pathfinding during Grab: Survivors now pulled towards the Grab’s starting coordinates instead of Houndmaster’s location.
- Hindered effect on Grabbed Survivors: Increased to 10% (was 3%).
The Houndmaster – Add-ons
- Knotted Rope: Basic attack cooldown on grabbed Survivors reduced to 2% (was 10%).
Killer Perk Updates
Hex: Thrill of the Hunt
- Survivors’ Cleansing and Blessing speed reduction per Token: Adjusted to 8/10/12% (was 10/12/14%).

Bots
- Survivor bots now correctly use the perk Invocation: Treacherous Crows.

- Fixed The Houndmaster bugs, including:
- Stuck animations during generator breaks.
- Incorrect icons for Dog’s Search and Swap Command.
- Dog’s vault interactions and Survivor injury inconsistencies during Chase Command.
- Dog vaulting elevated areas and incorrect Survivor placement during struggle.
- Crashes when Houndmaster left trials.
- Fixed issues for other Killers:
- Missing icon for Demogorgon’s Traverse Upside Down.
- Nurse’s ability to cancel blink when looking down at obstacles.
Environment/Maps
- Fixed gameplay and collision issues across multiple maps, including:
- Ormond Lake Mine, Nostromo Wreckage, Gideon Meat Plant, and Suffocation Pit.
- Various maps where Killer powers (Nurse, Houndmaster, Cenobite) were improperly restricted or exploited.
Perks
- Fixed several perk-related issues:
- Save the Best for Last and Play With Your Food token loss not triggering with Houndmaster’s Dog.
- THWACK! aura not displaying after pallet or wall destruction.
- Grunts of pain lingering with Clean Break.
- Missing audio cue when dropping a Flashbang.
Previously, a big Dead by Daylight update 5.4.0 was released which added a new Killer (The Onryō) and a new survivor (Yoichi Asakawa). Unfortunately, players are facing various issues with the game. Today’s Dead by Daylight patch 8.400.200 will address a few of these issues.
