D2R Update 1.34 Patch Notes (Diablo 2 Resurrected patch 1.034)

[Diablo 2 Resurrected] D2R update 1.34 is now available to download on PS4, PS5, and Xbox One. According to the D2R 1.034 patch notes, the Reign of the Warlock introduces a new class, expanded Terror Zones, the Colossal Ancients pinnacle fight, and major itemization updates. The Chronicle system, Loot Filter, and advanced stash upgrades enhance progression. New sets, uniques, runewords, and platforms broaden access while era partitioning preserves character integrity across game versions. Additionally, today’s D2R patch 1.34 (1.034.000) also includes quality of life changes and fixes.

Overview

Warlock Class Introduction

• Warlock wields forbidden demon magic and can specialize in:

  • Demonic Binding

  • Eldritch Weapons

  • Arts of Chaos

Warlock Skill Trees

Demonic Binding

• Enables summoning and controlling demons:

  • Goatmen

  • Tainted

  • Defiler

• Allows empowerment of demons or consuming them to strengthen the Warlock.

Eldritch Weapons

• Imbues weapons with hexes that cripple, drain, or explode enemies.

• Grants creation of ethereal weapon duplicates or projectile throws.

• Allows wielding a two-handed weapon with an off-hand.

Arts of Chaos

• Uses hellfire and void to unleash long-range destructive attacks.

• Conjures Miasma and catastrophic abilities like Apocalypse and Abyss.

Warlock Passive

• Levitation allows equipping a two-handed weapon in one hand plus an off-hand.

Terror Zones Overhaul

New Controls & Enemies

• Consumables allow players to choose which Act becomes Terrorized.

• New Hell-difficulty foe: Heralds of Terror, which scale in danger over time.

Colossal Ancients Unlock

• Terrorized Act bosses can drop statues.

• Combining all five statues opens the Colossal Ancients battle.

Zone Rotation Update

• Terror Zones now rotate every 30 minutes.

• Full revised rotation for Acts I–V included.

Pinnacle Boss: Colossal Ancients

• Three Ancients scale in power as each is defeated.

• Slaying a final Ancient grants a Unique Jewel (two possible per Ancient).

• Only one such jewel can be equipped at a time.

New Items and Systems

Grimoires

• New Warlock off-hands with elemental damage variants across all quality tiers.

Dagger Updates

• Daggers can now roll up to three +1–3 Warlock skills.

• Sold by major magic vendors; removed from gambling.

New Sets

• Bane’s Garments (Normal)

• Horazon’s Splendor (Elite)

New Runewords

• Authority (Body Armor)

• Coven (Helm)

• Void (Dagger)

• Vigilence (Shield)

• Ritual (Dagger)

New Uniques

• Includes grimoires, tomes, weapons, armor, jewelry, and accessories.

Chronicle System

• Tracks collected Uniques, Sets, and Runewords.

• Displays when and where items were obtained.

• Completion unlocks cosmetic rewards.

Quality of Life Enhancements

Loot Filter

• Fully customizable, built into the game.

• Supports custom, shared, and community filters.

• Controls visibility of items when using Alt.

Advanced Stash Tabs

• Adds stacking for materials and resources.

• New dedicated tabs for Gems, Runes, Materials, and Consumables.

• Reign of the Warlock includes +2 Stash Tabs and +2 Character Slots.

Era Partitioning

• Characters exist separately across:

  • Diablo II Classic

  • Diablo II: Resurrected

  • Reign of the Warlock

• Actions in one era do not affect versions in others.

Availability & Editions

Battle.net / Console

• Reign of the Warlock DLC adds the class, cosmetics, and account upgrades.

• Infernal Edition includes both the base game and DLC plus cross-game rewards.

Steam

• Diablo II: Resurrected debuts on Steam with the Infernal Edition.

Xbox Game Pass

• Base game included; Reign of the Warlock requires separate purchase.

Previously, an update was released that added queue functionality to consoles. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing login and server issues. Today’s D2R version 1.34 will address a few of these issues.
