CS2 Update Details (CS2 Patch Notes) on July 29, 2025

Counter Strike 2 (CS2) update is available to download on PC. According to the official CS2 update patch notes, CS2 integrates new first-person animations via AnimGraph2, updates chicken behaviors, and improves combat fluidity. Additionally, today’s CS2 patch also adds Overpass, Train, and Inferno adjustments.

CS2 Update Patch Notes – July 28, 2025

• Full overhaul of all first-person animations with AnimGraph2 integration

• Chicken animations fully updated

• Improved damage prediction while moving and fixes for shotgun reload interruption

• Surfing now features new speed-sensitive audio

• Major map changes across Overpass, Train, Inferno, and Dogtown

Gameplay Updates

• Improved movement-based shooting: Damage prediction when shooting while moving has been enhanced

• Shotgun reload fix: Shotguns will no longer auto-resume reload after interruption

• Surfing improvements: Fixed multiple issues where players could get stuck on surf maps

Audio Enhancements

• Voice volume fix: Individual player voice volume adjustments now work correctly

• Reload and draw sound updates: Improved weapon sounds to align with new animation system

• Surf audio added:

  • Speed-based surf sounds introduced

  • Toggle via sv_surf_sounds

  • Volume settings: snd_surf_volume_inair, snd_surf_volume_map, snd_surf_volume_slide

• Ambient sound updates: New ambient content added for community map developers

Animation Overhaul

• First-person animations replaced: New animations for deploy, fire, reload, and inspect using AnimGraph2

• Chicken animations updated: Complete rework of chicken behavior animations

Miscellaneous

• Community Server Browser: Now opens in Steam Overlay for fullscreen exclusive users

Map Changes

Overpass

• Breakable glass added to B doors

• Adjustments: Heaven railing, A site truck angle, view block from truckbed to stairs

• Raised wall near A stairs and improved dumpster area visuals

• Environmental tweaks: Grass removal, flattened wall tops, re-enabled wires

Train

• New covers: Hell train (A site), Z exit (B site), Upper B halls

• Ivy cover adjusted

• Visuals updated: Removed A site door stripes, raised B CT platform, improved lighting

• Clipping optimized

Inferno

• Opened Church windows above Coffins

• Garden path reshaped; box on B site modified

• A site balcony railing repaired

• Curbs removed, Arch light repositioned

• Visuals in Banana enhanced for visibility

• General prop adjustments

Dogtown

• Updated to latest Community Workshop version
