Bloons TD Battles 2 (BTDB2) Update 4.9 Patch Notes

Bloons TD Battles 2 update 4.9 is rolling out on PC, iOS, Android & Steam. According to the official Bloons TD Battles 2 patch notes, the latest update introduces Phayze Bloons, shielded enemies that glitch forward when their shield breaks, appearing from round 21 and sendable from round 15. Bling Seasons now last five weeks. Apart from this, the BTD Battles 2 update 4.9 also adjusts Tack Shooter, Monkey Ace, Dartling Gunner, and heroes like Benjamin, DJ Ben, Jericho, and Adora. Several bug fixes improve gameplay consistency.

BTD Battles 2 Patch Notes 4.9 – September 1, 2025

New Features

New Bloon Modifier: Phayze Bloons

• Phayze bloons spawn with a reality shield that protects them from damage.

• The shield has health equal to 1% of the bloon’s total health (minimum 1).

• Damage dealt to the shield does not transfer to the bloon. For example, hitting a red phayze bloon with a 20-damage sniper shot will only destroy the shield, leaving the bloon unharmed.

• When the shield is destroyed, the bloon glitches forward 10% of the track length and is invulnerable while glitching.

• Once the shield is broken and the bloon glitches forward, it becomes a normal bloon and cannot regain its shield.

• Phayze bloons unlock for sending at round 15, with a 1.75x cost multiplier.

• Phayze bloons appear naturally starting from round 21.

• Opponents in Hero Challenge will now send phayze bloons as part of their rushes.

General Changes

Bling Season Length

• Bling Seasons will now last 5 weeks instead of 4.

• This begins with Season 36, running from September 12 to October 17.

• Arena leagues will continue to run weekly.

Balance Changes

Tack Shooter

• Inferno Ring (5xx) cost reduced from $45,500 to $35,500.

• This adjustment brings its efficiency closer to other tier 5 upgrades.

Monkey Ace

• Base cost reduced from $850 to $750.

• Bomber Ace cost increased from $1000 to $1100.

• Sky Shredder (5xx) MOAB missile damage increased from 200 to 250.

• Sky Shredder (5xx) missile blast radius increased from 12 to 22.

• These changes restore early-game viability while making Sky Shredder a stronger option.

Dartling Gunner

• Bloon Area Denial System (xx4) knockback now affects MOABs and BFBs.

• Bloon Exclusion Zone (xx5) knockback now affects DDTs and ZOMGs.

• Bloon Exclusion Zone (xx5) projectiles can now pop all bloon types.

• These improvements enhance late-game performance and make BEZ effective against DDTs.

Benjamin

• Level 5 Bank Hack reduced from 12% to 10%.

• Level 9 Bank Hack reduced from 18% to 15%.

• Reduced effectiveness to balance Banana Farm synergy.

DJ Ben Jammin’

• Level 1 range increased from 25 to 35.

• Easier to use and better for money-making setups.

Star Captain Jericho

• Level 20 Smuggler’s Run ship capacity increased from $25,000 to $27,000.

• Now able to carry a single phayze BAD at maximum level.

Fateweaver Adora

• Level 3 Sharp Sting of Fate pierce increased from (7 × main weapon pierce × projectiles) to (8 × main weapon pierce × projectiles).

• Improved impact to make the ability more useful.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed bloon sends getting stuck in the queue when using the Destroy All Bloons button in the Bloon Lab.

• Fixed the 203 Ninja Monkey not displaying its bandana.

• Fixed Discord names showing over Clan names in the profile screen on tablets.

Previously, a major Bloons TD Battles 2 update 1.5 added a new event (Speed Battles and Play with Fire), and Bling Season 6. Recently, BTDB2 update 1.10 also added a new hero: Agent Jericho. Unfortunately, players are still facing some issues with the game. Today’s BTD Battles 2 patch 4.9 will address a few of these issues.
