A major Victoria 3 game update 1.7.6 is available to download on PC(Steam). According to the official Victoria 3 patch notes, the latest update improves Protectionism, smarter AI economic management, and better visibility for Nationalization settings. Apart from this, today’s Victoria 3 patch 1.7.6 also includes multiple bug fixes.

Gameplay Improvements
- Protectionism: Now grants a +25% leverage resistance effect, enhancing strategic economic policies.
AI Improvements
- Cost-saving measures: AI will now cancel government building constructions before demolishing existing ones to conserve resources.
- Naval spending: Reduced AI naval expenditure, especially for nations with large overseas empires, to curb excessive British overspending.
Interface Updates
- Nationalization popup: Added “CTRL + click to set levels to a minimum/maximum” prompt for better visibility.
Bug Fixes
AI Behavior
- Fixed bug where guarantee independence wouldn’t join if the diplomatic play started outside the current interests.
- Resolved issue where Military Access could be enforced on a subject opposing their overlord.
- Fixed AI failure to merge temporary military formations back into parent units, which caused a surplus of understrength armies.
- AI now correctly evaluates Investment Rights and Join Power Bloc wargoals, ensuring appropriate levels of aggression.
- Addressed issue with AI incorrectly using Grant own Market on subjects, such as Austria granting Krakow their market.
Gameplay & Systems
- Fixed a bug where Force Nationalization Wargoal only affected state-owned buildings, ignoring private-owned ones.
- Fixed issue where government buildings couldn’t promote employees.
- Fixed bug causing fleets outside home HQs to not recover post-defeat.
- Military formations now properly retain basecamp locations.
Crash & Stability Fixes
- Fixed crash to desktop (CTD) related to front distribution cache.
- Resolved CTD upon enacting cooperative ownership.
- (Mac) Fixed potential stack overflow in cpdxguitextdata.
