Toxic Commando Update 1.006 (v1.6) Patch Notes on April 30, 2026

John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando update 1.006 (version 1.006.000) is now available to download on PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S. According to the official Toxic Commando update 1.6 patch notes, the latest update refines Insane difficulty balance, improves respawn logic, and preserves weapon attachments during Prestige upgrades.

Todays Toxic Commando patch 1.006 also rebalanced several class abilities to adjust damage, duration, and energy use. Key gameplay bugs, including invincibility and ability exploits, were fixed, along with stability improvements and PS5 crash resolutions.

Insane difficulty updates

  • Added rewards for completing the game on Insane difficulty.
  • Reduced damage dealt by Roamers.
  • Lowered health points of Roamers.

Prestige weapon system changes

  • Attachments and tiers are now retained when upgrading weapon Prestige.
  • Only the weapon level resets during Prestige upgrades.

Respawn system adjustments

  • Upon first death, a random Revival Pod between 100 and 160 meters is selected.
  • If none exist in that range, the nearest Revival Pod is used.
  • Change reduces long travel distances to revive teammates.

Class ability balance updates

Operator class

  • Drone base damage increased by 20%.
  • Drone duration doubled.
  • Dragonbreath base damage increased by 125%.
  • Dragonbreath duration doubled.
  • Lancer duration reduced by 75%.
  • Impulse base damage reduced by 20%.
  • Impulse duration increased by 200%.

Defender class

  • Triad upgraded to Pentad, deploying 5 barriers instead of 3.
  • Barrier energy use reduced by 55% when not dealing or receiving damage.
  • Efficiency perk reduces energy use by 15% under the same conditions.
  • Efficiency perk now has 4 upgrade levels, each adding 15% reduction.

Medic class

  • Trauma Center energy now regenerates from enemy kills by default.
  • Trauma Center duration reduced by 50%.
  • Emergency Aid energy now regenerates from enemy kills by default.
  • Wizardry perk increases passive energy regeneration by 1% per second.

Strike class

  • Shatterblast passive energy regeneration time increased to 20 seconds.
  • Cluster explosion damage increased by 33%.
  • Sentinel projectile damage increased by 33%.
  • Sentinel shot capacity increased to 25 rounds from 7.

Gameplay and interface improvements

  • Weapon pickup beams now display different colors for each player.
  • Beam color now matches weapon rarity based on player progression.
  • Added new keyboard key remapping options.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed Hellspawn remaining invincible during the final stage of The Pit.
  • Resolved Defender temporary armor not restoring after shield re-entry.
  • Fixed Repulsor perk failing to activate on all affected Roamers.
  • Corrected terminal interaction issue on Root of Evil requiring simultaneous input.
  • Fixed Snare remaining inactive after spawning.
  • Resolved infinite ability restoration exploit with Medic Remote subclass.

Stability updates

  • Addressed multiple crash scenarios.
  • Improved overall game stability.
  • Fixed two frequent crash issues on PlayStation 5.

Previously, Toxic Commando day 1 update added quality of life changes and tweaks. Today’s Toxic Commando update 1.006 will address a few of these bugs. You can expect more fixes in the upcoming Toxic Commando patch 1.007.
