The Sims 4 Update 2.28 Patch Notes: Expanded Family Tree and More

The Sims 4 update 2.28 expands the Family Tree, introduces flared staircases, new CAS filters and nails, and launches the Lost Legacies Event with quests and rewards. According to the official Sims 4 2.28 patch notes, the latest update also improves Live Mode, Build Mode, and CAS stability and visuals.

Family Tree Updates

Added new relationship labels: in-laws, half-siblings, step-relatives, great-grand relatives, cousins’ extended lines, ancestors, descendants, and distant relatives
Updated terms: Ex-Spouse and Late Spouse
Extended family now displayed in the Family Tree
Option added to show or hide adopted status
Romantic interactions blocked between close relatives, including step-relatives and in-laws

Build Mode – Flared Staircases

Staircases can be widened at the top or bottom, symmetric or asymmetric
Stair rails may be applied to a single side
Added slider for adjustable rail length

Fixed UI issues affecting Turn-Ons, Turn-Offs, Likes, and Dislikes
Prevented crashes when editing Merfolk or Aliens
Resolved nail assets causing full-body metallic effects
Corrected nail assets causing upper-arm line artifacts

Previously, a major SIMS 4 update 2.05 added introduces a new Main Menu design, smoother performance, refreshed townie homes, and extensive bug fixes. Today’s Sims 4 version 2.28 will address a few of these issues.
