The Sims 4 update 1.97 is available on PS4, PC, and Xbox One. According to the official Sims 4 1.97 patch notes, the latest update resolves major gameplay issues including error codes, interaction bugs, and improvements to various romantic scenarios. Apart from this, Sims 4 patch 1.97 also adds enhancements to the UI, Create a Sim features, and supernatural interactions.
Sims 4 1.97 Patch Notes – August 8, 2024
General Fixes
- Error Codes: Resolved Error Code 121 when moving households during the “Finding Love After a Breakup” Scenario and Error Code 123 when traveling between locations.
- Cost of Living: Sims can now pay their bills when due.
- Distorted Glasses: Fixed an issue where certain glasses appeared distorted.
Interface & Interaction Improvements
- Safe for Streaming Music: Improved interface now grays out non-streamable songs, and preview options are available.
- Relationship Panel: Sims rejected for a date through the Relationship Panel now receive a clear Notification.
- Noncommittal Trait: The “Start a New Relationship” Want is no longer available for Sims with the Noncommittal Trait.
- Parent-Teen Interaction: The “Lecture About Responsibilities” interaction now appears only once in the menu.
Seasons
- Ciudad Enamorada: The Dr. June’s Weather Control Device no longer offers snow, reflecting the warm winters of the area.
High School Years
- Married Sims: Married Sims no longer propose to other Sims.
Growing Together
- Cupid’s Corner: Sims from Cupid’s Corner now have only three Traits, allowing room for new Traits through Self Discovery.
- Self Discovery: The text for the Self Discovery moment now accurately reflects Trait changes from Unflirty or Romantically Reserved to Lovebug.
Lovestruck Updates
- Gallery Sims: Sims from the Gallery are available again in Cupid’s Corner, and loading issues when traveling have been fixed.
- Social Interactions: Ghost partners can now attend Cupid’s Counseling and participate in various romantic interactions like Seductive Dances.
- Autonomous Sleep: Sims now seek sleep automatically when low on energy.
- Gifting Flowers: Sims now give a single flower when selecting “Give Flowers…” instead of an entire bouquet.
- Cuddle in Bed: Fixed issues with Sims locking up during repeated “Cuddle in Bed” interactions.
Create a Sim
- New Traits: Lovebug and Romantically Reserved Traits are now available as Likes/Dislikes and Turn-Ons/Turn-Offs.
- Curly Beard: The short, curly beard no longer alters the shape of a Sim’s jaw.
Build Mode
- Lighting and Collision: The Spot-tangle Light no longer affects other lights, and the Couples Crest Bench now has proper collision detection.
Ciudad Enamorada
- Camera Movement: Improved camera movement around Calle del Ensueño in Plaza Mariposa.
- Household Fixes: The Nadir household’s penthouse office door has been restored, and the rooftop of the López household is now fully painted.
Dine Out
- Waiter Reliability: Waiters now consistently bring out food and clean tables without resetting.
Vampires
- Teen Vampires: Teen Vampires can now complete regular dates.
- Cupid’s Counseling: Vampires without Sun Resistance can attend counseling regardless of the time of day, and all Vampires can participate in Seductive Dances.
Realm of Magic
- Magic Tomes: Sims are now able to read Magic Tomes again.
My Wedding Stories
- Tea Fix: The “Just a Spot of Tea” item now remains in place when returning from a wedding venue to a rental lot.
Previously, a major SIMS 4 update 1.95 added new Neighborhood Stories for managing friendships and romances, adds curved pools and fountains, new game options for invites and breakups, and a Safe for Streaming music option. Today’s Sims 4 version 1.96 will address a few of these issues.
