The Planet Crafter Update 0.8.008 Patch Notes: Space Trading

The Planet Crafter update 0.8.008 is rolling out on PC. According to the official Planet Crafter patch notes, the latest Space Trading update introduces new features like a space trading system and amphibian stage with frogs.

Recently, a major update added new features, changes, and quality-of-life improvements. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing several issues while playing the game. Today’s The Planet Crafter patch 0.8.008 will address a few of these issues.

The Planet Crafter Patch Notes (0.8.008) – June 28, 2023

New Features:

1. New space trading system:
   • Trading rocket recipe received by mail after reaching the breathable stage.
   • Trading platform allows sending a rocket with items to be sold in space.
   • Rocket returns after a certain time, giving “Terra Tokens” based on the content price.
   • Tokens can be used to buy items for the next trip’s rocket.
2. New terraformation stage: Amphibians:
   • Frogs appear in the wild once the amphibian stage is reached.
   • Frog eggs can be modified in the incubator once unlocked.

Community Feedback Improvements:

1. Drones:
   • Drones can collect algaes, vegetables, wheat, and cocoa.
   • “Demand” inventory can be set up for the items to automate drone harvesting.
   • Destructor can automatically destroy its content when full.
   • Beacons can have labels.
2. Silk worm and bee larvae:
   • Separate recipes for silk worm and bee larvae.
3. New habitat modules:
   • Two new 3×3 habitat modules unlocked via space trading.
   • Bigger container unlocked via space trading.
4. Foundations and stairs:
   • Foundations and stairs now snap to the launch platform.
5. Cooking station:
   • The cooking station is reintroduced.
6. Optimization techniques:
   • New optimization techniques implemented to improve FPS.

Changes:

1. New biome: “Cenote”:
   • Accessible at the top of the meteor crater.
2. World change:
   • Significant change occurs in the world after reaching the amphibian stage.
3. Meteor event:
   • One new meteor event added.
4. Achievements:
   • Six new achievements added.
5. Food items:
   • Some food items provide temporary bonuses.

New Items:

1. Space trading rocket.
2. Multiple frog eggs to find or craft.
3. Mutagen T4.
4. Terra Tokens chips.
5. Amphibian farm.
6. New cooking recipes: Fish stew, baked beans, cookies, cake, croissant.

New Items to buy or unlock via space trading rockets:

1. 3×3 pod habitat.
2. 3×3 pod habitat with dome.
3. Storage container with 80 slots.
4. Drone T2.
5. Cooking station.
6. One new butterfly species.
7. One new fish species.
8. Colored fabric.
9. Colored sofa.
10. Colored double bed.
11. Cacao and wheat seeds.

Performance Improvements:

1. Flatten game object hierarchy for overall performance improvement.
2. Map camera disabled by default.
3. Autocrafters’ performance improved.
4. Various small improvements.

Balancing:

1. Mutagen 3 unlocked after the fish stage.
2. Reduced requirements for some items.
