The Long Dark Update 2.29 Patch Notes for PS4 & PC

The Long Dark update 2.29 is available to download on PC, PS4 and Xbox. According to The Long Dark 2.29 patch notes, the latest update addresses various issues introduced in the v2.28 update, focusing on Cougar and Scurvy settings in pre-existing saves, ensuring players are prompted to opt in/out correctly, and adjusting related settings. Additionally, The Long Dark patch 2.29 also includes stability fixes.

Since the last major update 2.22, players have been experiencing multiple issues and bugs Hopefully, today’s The Long Dark version 2.29 will address some of these issues and bugs.

The Long Dark Version 2.29 Patch Notes – June 27, 2024

Gameplay, UI, Controls

Cougar Threat Adjustments

  • Fixed an issue where the time spent in a Region in pre-existing saves counted towards Cougar Threat, prematurely triggering Cougar Encroaching.

Opt-in/Out Prompts

  • Fixed an issue where players were not prompted to opt in/out of Cougar and Scurvy settings when loading a pre-existing save via the Resume button.
    • On first load of any save created prior to v2.29, the prompt will appear, regardless of previous prompts received.
  • Fixed an issue where players were not prompted to opt in/out of Cougar and Scurvy settings when loading a pre-existing Custom Toolbox save.
    • Upon loading any Custom Toolbox save, all players will be prompted to opt in/out of Cougar and Scurvy settings.

Cougar and Scurvy Settings

  • Players who opt into Cougar settings where none existed previously will have Low Cougar Spawn Chance settings applied.
  • Players who opt into Scurvy settings will have their Vitamin-C Drain Rate determined by the Base Resource Availability setting of that save.
    • If Scurvy was set to “Off” during initial Custom Toolbox creation, opting in will not change that setting.
