The First Descendant update 1.40 (1.21) is available to download on PS4, PS5(1.040) PC and Xbox. According to the official The First Descendant 1.40 patch notes, the latest update enhances solo matchmaking, and rebalances Intercept Battles, refines Descendant skills, improves content mechanics. Apart from this, today’s TFD patch 1.40 also fixes numerous bugs.

Balance: Intercept Battles
- Molten Fortress
- Frenzy Suppressors: Devices linked to the beam during the Frenzied state cannot be operated afterward.
- Adjusted spawn timing for Frenzy Suppressors during the Frenzied state.
- Reduced Roly-poly summons:
- Normal state: 8 → 4
- Frenzied state: 8 → 6
- Decreased frequency of entering the Frenzied state.
- Gluttony
- Impurity now drawn within a 15m radius.
- Wipe Attack Gauge increase reduced from 20% → 10% upon absorbing Unstable Energy.
- Unstable Energy explosions required to cancel Frenzied state doubled.
- Increased movement around the map center.
- Cooldown for Melee Attack extended from 5 → 20 seconds.
- Shotgun attack adjusted for close range.
- ATK reduced by ~47.4%.
Balance: Reactors
- Attribute Power Boost Ratios are now exclusive to specific Reactor types:
- Fire, Chill, Toxic, Electric, and Non-Attribute options match Reactor attributes.
- HP Heal Modifier exclusive to Non-Attribute Reactors.

- Ultimate Sharen: Active Camouflage duration increased from 4 → 6 seconds.

- Septic Gust: 60 → 35 seconds
- Tremor: 80 → 60 seconds
- Void Corrosion: 10 → 8 seconds
- Hunting Time: 150 → 55 seconds
- Skill Enhancements:
- Tremor damage increased per Acidic Decay stack:
- Lv. 1: 470.3% → 655.5%
- Lv. 4: 494.8% → 692.2%
- Adventurer’s Spirit duration: 3 → 4 seconds, now scales with Skill Duration Increase.
- Onslaught delays reduced and restricted to ground level when Adventurer’s Spirit is active.
- Tremor damage increased per Acidic Decay stack:

- Introduced “Start Private Operation” feature.
- Difficulty not scaled to player count.
- Commander Mechanics:
- Sphere mechanic replaced with Monster Extermination in specific zones and operations.

- Rewards based on mission difficulty and score multiplier.
