The First Descendant update 1.21 Patch Notes (v1.1.2)

The First Descendant update 1.21 (1.1.2) is available to download on PS4, PS5(1.021) PC and Xbox. According to the official The First Descendant 1.21 patch notes, the latest update focuses on reducing dungeon penalties, rebalancing boss fights and missions, and improving the functionality of Ultimate Weapons. Apart from this, today’s TFD patch 1.21 (v1.1.2) also fine-tuned controller Aim Assist.

What is new in The First Descendant Update 1.21 on September 12, 2024?

Dungeon & Invasion Changes

  • Removed Dungeon Penalties:
    • No longer incur extra bullet costs or stat reductions when using specific weapons or skills.
  • Intercept Battles:
    • HP Orbs recover 25% (up from 20%).
    • MP Orbs recover 16% (up from 13%).
  • Invasion: Legion of Immortality:
    • Increased distance for feeding Artificial Brains to Quantum Computing Unit from 2m to 3.5m.

Boss & Mission Adjustments

  • Dead Bride (Normal/Hard):
    • Reduced Teleport frequency during Frenzy.
    • Decreased range and damage of Snow Storm.
    • Reduced HP of Amplifier part.
  • Hanged Man (Normal):
    • Reduced HP and damage of various attacks, including Thunder Wave, Charging Laser, and Thunderbolt.
    • Shortened duration of Electric Cannon skill.
  • Sterile Land: Rockfall:
    • Lowered difficulty in the Deception Transmitter (Defense) mission.
  • Echo Swamp: Seed Vault:
    • Monsters spawn faster, and Collection Mission requirements lowered.
  • Hagios: The Old Mystery:
    • Data Collection Mission changed to a Traversal Mission.

Aim Assist & Controller Settings

  • Default Aim Assist value set to 50 (down from 80).
  • Adjusted Aim Assist to re-target enemies faster.
  • Maximum Aim Assist range for all non-sniper weapons set to 100m.
  • Reduced crosshair pull strength and duration when targeting enemies.

Quality of Life

  • ESC Menu: Now accessible during DBNO state.
  • Void Fragment Mission: Added sniper monsters to prevent macro use.

Ultimate Weapon Improvements

  • Wave of Light (Scout Rifle):
    • Lower recoil, increased Firearm Critical Hit Rate, and ‘Solar Halo’ enhancements.
    • Enemies hit create ‘Dusk,’ inflicting ‘Lunar Halo’ to nearby enemies.
  • King’s Guard Lance (Beam Rifle):
    • Increased Fire Rate, and added up to 3 auto-attacking Guardian Lances.
    • Guardian Lance’s Damage Interval and Duration now scale with enhancement level.
  • Executor (Shotgun):
    • Increased accuracy and critical hit rates, with improved ‘Exaltation’ mechanics.
    • Adjusted stack system to focus on Weak Point Damage.
  • Peace Maker (Hand Cannon):
    • ‘Single Reload for Peace’ effect now activates with Fusion skill, reduced skill cost.
  • EXCAVA (Assault Rifle):
    • Faster Energy Grenade activation, increased projectile size, and improved Voltage Accumulation effect.

Battle Pass Additions

  • Season 1 Battle Pass:
    • Added page 13 with ‘Crystallization Catalysts’ and ‘Energy Activators’ as new rewards.

UI/UX Updates

  • “Filter all as junk” reworked:
    • Now called “Bulk Exclude Junk Filter” with customizable conditions for excluding items.
    • Allows choice of excluding items based on one or more specified conditions.
    • Reset existing filter settings—ensure to review before dismantling items.
    • Example: Exclude “Ultimate or Higher” and “Level 1 or Higher” to prevent rare items from being marked as junk.
  • Inventory and Map navigation improved:
    • Pressing Map (M) in any Inventory-related menu (Inventory, Descendants, etc.) now opens the Map screen.
    • Pressing Inventory (I) in the Map-related menu (Map, Library, Journal, etc.) opens the Inventory screen.
  • Hotkey binding options added:
    • You can now bind hotkeys for Library, Consumables, Journal, Social, Battle Pass, and Shop through Game Options.
  • Selectable rewards for Hard Infiltration Operations:
    • Players can now choose a reward before starting Hard Infiltration Operations.
  • Weapon customization updates:
    • The Weapons List in Customize now displays the status of weapon skins.
  • Library improvements:
    • Items obtained from Research are now displayed in Acquisition Info.
    • Tooltips for Amorphous Materials are now viewable.
  • Gameplay settings update:
    • Change Firing Mode is now enabled by default.

Bug Fixes

UI/UX Fixes
  • Resolved issue where the screen auto-switched to Tracked Items tab when entering Research.
  • Fixed missing Usage Information button on some skin tooltips.
  • Fixed party-related bug where leaving a private battlefield party would make it public.
  • Corrected module socket display issues.
Descendants & Ultimate Weapons Fixes
  • Ajax’s Barrier effect no longer lingers after immediate destruction.
  • Hailey’s “Zenith” skill now properly considers the movement speed of her current weapon.
  • Yujin’s healing now calculates recovery based on the target’s Max Energy Shield if their Max HP is under 1.
  • Fixed King’s Guard Lance to prevent blocking of enemy projectiles.
Miscellaneous Fixes
  • Quest Fix: Resolved the issue where the “Collect Ironheart Particles” quest was not completing; rewards will be applied automatically upon re-login.
  • Fixed UI issues in Invasion: Legion of Immortality and door-related bugs in Agna Desert: The Asylum after dying during battles.

Recently, a major The First Descendant update 1.03 added new options for visual effects, enhanced mission rewards, increased item limits as well as also included numerous bug fixes address issues with Descendants, missions, and field interactions.
