The First Descendant Update 1.109 Patch Notes (v1.3.17) on January 22, 2026

– Content Introduction

ㄴ “Onslaught Mode” is a cooperation-based wave defense mode where you hold back advancing monsters.
ㄴ Use currency acquired during combat to place Turrets and Barricades, and enhance your battle capabilities by selecting abilities.
ㄴ Players move through 3 Combat Areas in sequence, breaking through each Wave with the goal of defeating the Colossi.
ㄴ Dimensional Energy decreases when monsters reach the target Zone, and the Mission ends immediately if Dimensional Energy is fully depleted.
ㄴ Tactical placement and decision-making determine the flow of battle.
– How It Works
ㄴ “Onslaught Mode” consists of 3 Stages in total.
ㄴ Each Stage progresses in a Wave format.
ㆍ Stage 1: 7 Waves
ㆍ Stage 2: 10 Waves
ㆍ Stage 3: 10 Waves
ㄴ After completing each Stage, you move to the next Combat Area.
ㄴ The Colossus appears in the final Stage.
– Battle Elements
ㄴ Monster Waves
ㆍ Monsters with different roles in battle appear.
ㆍ Monster threat levels increase as the Waves progress.
ㄴ Appearing Monsters
ㆍ New Tyrants “Spike Spiders,” “Void Gunners,” and “Resonance Wings” appear.
ㆍ Monsters with the new Champion Special Effect “Multi-Phase Shield Drone” appear.
ㆍ Commander monster skills are added based on the current Stage.
ㄴ Combat Area Movement
ㆍ After completing a specific Stage, you move to the next Combat Area.
ㄴ Defensive Structures and Resource Utilization
ㆍ Acquire currency by eliminating monsters and progressing through Waves.
ㆍ Use the acquired currency to place Turrets and Barricades.
ㄴ Defensive Structure Types
ㆍ Sentry Turret: A basic defensive turret that automatically attacks monsters.
ㆍ Disruption Wave Generator: A Support-type turret that decreases monster Movement Speed.
ㆍ Barricade: A defensive structure that draws monster attacks by inflicting Taunt.
– How to Enter
ㄴ You can enter via the Albion “Tactical Transport Control” or the World Map content menu.
ㄴ Stage 1 of “Onslaught Mode” is unlocked after reaching Mastery Rank 18.
ㆍ Stage 2: Unlocked after completing Stage 1 once.
ㆍ Stage 3: Unlocked after completing Stage 2 once.
– Rewards
ㄴ After completing the final Wave of each Stage in “Onslaught Mode,” you have a chance to acquire Ancestors Module Loot at the following rates.
ㆍ Upon completing Wave 10 of each Stage: Stage 1: 17.5%, Stage 2: 30%, Stage 3: 32.5% drop chance.
ㄴ “Onslaught Mode” will be added to the Descendant Mission Board – Weekly Content.
ㆍ After completing the final Wave of each Stage in “Onslaught Mode,” you will acquire 1 Ancestors Module Loot III as Today’s Bonus, with a max of 4 acquirable per week.
ㄴ As opportunities to obtain Ancestors Modules expand, we are preparing to increase the maximum number of Ancestors Modules that can be held in inventory.
