The First Descendant Update 1.068 Patch Notes (Version 1.68)

The First Descendant update 1.068 (1.68) is available to download on PS5 PC and Xbox. According to the official The First Descendant 1.068 patch notes, the latest update 1.2.18 introduces Dynamic Motion settings, revamps Arche Tuning with Mutant Cell Slots, adds Ice Maiden to Void Intercept Battle, includes new Multi-Hit weapon stats, and expands systems like Core Conversion and party recruitment. Apart from this, today’s TFD patch 1.068 also includes general stability gameplay performance improvements.

New Features & Major Changes

1. Dynamic Motion

• Added Dynamic Motion system.

  • Dynamic Motion Level: Adjustable between Weak / Medium / Strong (default: Medium).

  • Located in: Options > Gameplay > Display Settings.

2. Arche Tuning Expansion – Mutant Cells

• New Node & Mutant Cell Slot added to Arche Tuning.

  • ⚠ After update, all Arche Tuning presets & settings (excluding Unique Arche Factor Level & tuning count) will be reset.

  • Reset Node function now supports Mutant Cell Slot activation.

Mutant Cell Mechanics:

• Equipping Mutant Cells:

  • Must first unlock the slot (cost: 100 Fission Accelerants).

  • Unlock applies to all loadouts for the Descendant group.

  • Fission Accelerants drop from Sigma Sector (Normal/High-risk) commander fights.

• Socket Types:

  • Each slot has a designated type; only matching Mutant Cells can be equipped.

• Extracting Mutant Cells:

  • Cost: 100 ARC Genetic Scissors (from Sigma Sector commanders).

  • Extracted cells go to Mutant Cell Inventory for reuse.

• Overriding Cells:

  • Replacing a cell destroys the old one (no cost).

• Resetting Slots:

  • Equipped cells remain but lose effects if the slot is reset.

Acquiring Mutant Cells:

• Open Spoils Boxes (select desired cell).

  • Drop Sources:

    • High-risk Sigma Sector: 5%

    • Normal Sigma Sector: 2.5%

    • Rare chance from 400% Infiltration Operation commanders.

Director’s Notes:

“Mutant Cells aim to boost Skill Dealers’ efficiency, though Firearm Dealers still outperform them. We’ll address this gap gradually—starting with Mutant Cells—before introducing more diverse effects. A June 19 External Components Core Update will further enhance defensive capabilities and aggressive Skill Dealer builds.”

3. New Colossus: Ice Maiden (Void Intercept Battle: Abyss)

• Unlock: Mastery Rank 18 + clear ‘The Most Powerful Colossus’ quest.

• Attributes & Mechanics:

  • Weak to Fire (Chill attribute).

  • Map has movement-hindering obstacles.

  • Destroy parts to gain buffs.

  • Void Reflux Mode:

    • Snowstorm debuffs the field.

    • More parts destroyed = stronger debuffs on Ice Maiden.

• HP/Shield Adjustments:

  • Base stats increased, but 4-player multiplier reduced from 3.2x → 2x.

• Reward Changes:

  • Increased: Select rewards.

  • Removed: Nano Compound, Quantum Crystal, etc. (exchangeable via ETA-0 Shop).

• Leaderboard Reset:

  • Active from 05/22/2025 (Post-Maintenance) – 06/18/2025 14:59 PDT.

• New Cosmetics:

  • “The Frozen One” Descendant skin & “Ice Maiden” Back Attachment (ETA-0 Shop).

Director’s Notes:

*”To combat sub-1-second clears, we extended battle duration to emphasize strategy. Multiplayer efficiency improved via HP adjustments. Rewards now require fewer runs, with growth materials exchangeable for flexibility.”*

4. Party Recruitment System

• New Party Tab in Social menu.

  • Recruit Members: Set conditions (e.g., Descendant/gear requirements).

  • Join Parties: Filter by your preferences.

5. Weapon & Module Updates

• New Weapon Options:

  • Multi-Hit Chance & Multi-Hit Damage.

• Module Loadouts:

  • Individual settings for duplicate weapons (saved per preset).

  • Loadout numbers displayed in Inventory/Weapon Tooltips.

*”Multi-Hit stats were added as a new Hit Augmentation AB Core (live June 19) to avoid diluting existing Core pools. Feedback inspired this compromise.”*

6. Leaderboard Ranking Rewards

• Void Erosion Purge: Challenge now awards:

  • Ingris Prime Challenger Medal (1st–100th place, all platforms).

  • Rewards mailed at reset (highest-ranked Descendant only).

7. Quality-of-Life Additions

• View Descendant: Check others’ gear via User Info popup.

• Core Conversion:

  • Exchange 3 Stage 10 Cores → 1 Target Core (cost: 50,000 Gold).

  • Access via NPC Deslin (merged with Craft Core).

• Inversion Reinforcement Loadouts:

  • 3 slots added (reset each season).

  • ⚠ Post-update, all settings (except levels/points) reset.
