Terraria Update 1.40 Patch Notes for PS4 & Xbox (v1.4.5.5) – March 17, 2026

Terraria update 1.40 (v1.4.5.5) for PS4 and Xbox One restores classic UI options, improves control flexibility, fixes major bugs and exploits. According to the official Terraria patch 1.40 patch notes, the latest update also fixes crashes related to Shadow Beam, Heat Ray, and Magnet Sphere.

Content & Additions

• Secret seed menu now includes descriptions

• Classic Crafting Window reintroduced via toggle (saved in settings)

• Added “Pause When Unfocused” setting

• Added Dash keybinding and optional double-tap dash

• Added Armor Set Ability keybinding

• Added Next/Previous Loadout keybindings

• Invisibility Potion fully hides the player again

• Gem Critters now spawn underground regardless of events

• Dedicated Server creation no longer prompts special seeds after pasted codes

Previously, a big Terraria update 1.30 added Terraria 1.4.5 “Bigger and Boulder” delivers major crossover content, new gear, pets, mounts, and world options alongside large-scale quality-of-life improvements..
