Terraria Update 1.38 Patch Notes for PS4 & Xbox – February 5, 2026

Terraria update 1.38 is now available to download on PS4 and Xbox One. According to the official Terraria 1.38 patch notes, the latest update fixes restore key mechanics, resolve critical crashes, and address multiple exploits. Lightning storms received significant balance and visual improvements. Apart from this, today’s Terraria patch 1.38 also adds new accessibility and interface options.

Bug Fixes (1..4.5.1)

Content Changes & Additions

– Reverted a change that stopped sloped platform hoiks from working.
– Reverted a change that caused Leaf Blocks and Rich Mahogany Leaf Blocks to merge with each other.

Balance
– Obsidian Swordfish’s fire projectiles now inflict Hellfire rather than On Fire!.

Bug Fixes
– Fixed the game being unable to start on certain iOS versions.
– Fixed a crash related to Proton. Proton in general is not supported or necessary to run Terraria.
– Fixed a crash caused by entering a seed that only contains special characters.
– Fixed resource packs no longer checking the width and height of textures properly.
– Fixed the Shimmer island in Skyblock + Don’t Dig Up worlds spawning partially out of bounds.
– Fixed several crashes caused by the above.
– Fixed several localization issues.
– Fixed NPCs only being able to arrive homeless even if there are valid houses.
– Fixed some ammo using weapons (such as Acorn Slingshot) showing both stack count and ammo count at the same time, causing an overlap.
– Fixed instruments (including weapons like the Magic Harp) not having the correct range on all resolutions.
– Fixed Confetti and Snowfall blocks not blocking drawing behind them in all cases.
– Fixed several cases where right-clicking would cause multiple simultaneous interactions.
– Fixed the Rainbow Phasesaber’s hitbox being the wrong size.
– Fixed minions being killed when they leave the world’s bounds. They will now teleport back to the player instead.
– Fixed fishing not resetting the kite AFK counter.
– Fixed an exploit that allowed you to create items for free from the crafting menu.
– Fixed an exploit that allowed you to duplicate items that deal damage to you when used.
– Fixed the research cost of items not being visible in the crafting menu.
– Fixed Abigail and the Desert Storm Tiger not benefiting from Summon weapon prefixes.
– Fixed the Lavaproof Fishing Bag having a black pixel in all frames but the first.
– Fixed a missing pixel in the Wooden Table.

Bug Fixes (1..4.5.2)

Console fixes:

  • Fixed a crash when a Celestial Pillar’s shield is down, and the player is killed.
  • Fixed a crash on PlayStation when a player attempted to Drag the sun before the player data has loaded.
  • Fixed a crash when tethering a Faeling
  • Fixed some Splitscreen issues where hoppers wouldn’t work and coin animations didn’t play correctly

Mobile fixes:​

  • Fixed Keyboard and mouse/trackpad support not working on iOS 26
  • Fixed a black screen issue at start up
  • Fixed tethering a Faeling in the world

Known Issues:​

  • Some items which should be sold in NPC shops are missing, fixed in the next patch!
  • Crafty Achievement on Xbox and PlayStation are unobtainable due to changes in crafting stations, still under investigation.
  • Quick/Similar Stacking into a full chest, any overflow is not being stacked and is being lost, this is still under investigation, please be careful!
  • When making a creating character, the colours chosen may overwrite another character’s visuals in the list if you back out of the world select menu before making a new character.

Previously, a big Terraria update 1.30 added Terraria 1.4.5 “Bigger and Boulder” delivers major crossover content, new gear, pets, mounts, and world options alongside large-scale quality-of-life improvements..
