Terraria patch 1.39 (Console Update v1.4.5.3 and v1.4.5.4) introduce new interface toggles, storm lightning rebalancing, Secret Seed controls, bulk crafting, weapon buffs and major stability fixes. According to the official Terraria update 1.39 patch notes, the latest update also resolves numerous worldgen, UI, mount and multiplayer issues.

Terraria Console update 1.4.5.3
Content & Additions
– Added a Portraits Styles options to the Interface menu, with four distinct options: Detailed, Profile, Retro and Disabled.
– Added an Inventory Effects toggle to the Interface menu (disables the item flash when crafting).
– Added a Screen Shake toggle to the Video -> Effects menu.
– Added a Thunder Effects toggle to the Video -> Effects menu, which disables visual flashes from lightning (does not disable lightning strikes).
– Improved clipboard support on Linux.
Balance
– Storm lightning strike changes:
– Reduced damage to players from 200/300/400 on Classic/Expert/Master difficulty to 80/160/240. Legendary difficulty damage unchanged.
– Strike delay increased from 3.5 seconds to 4 seconds.
– Reduced player attachment range from three tiles to slightly less than one tile. Does not apply to Legendary difficulty.
– Strikes will no longer spawn directly in the path of fast moving players.
– Improved visuals of impending strike effect.
– Reduced the likelihood of lightning striking bodies of water.
– Strike frequency reduced when fishing, sleeping or fighting a boss.
– No longer appear during blizzards.
– Pylons no longer attract lightning.
– Visual effect intensity reduced for players who are behind walls.
– Villagers and pets now stay inside during thunderstorms.
– Lightning can now strike further from the player.
– Increased the appearance rate of Cattiva and Foxparks by 50%. Adjusted the ratio of 70% Cattiva – 30% Foxparks to 60% Cattiva – 40% Foxparks.
Bug Fixes
– Fixed a multiplayer crash involving waterfalls.
– Fixed a duplication glitch involving certain transformation mounts.
– Fixed .ZIP file based resource packs no longer working.
– Fixed the game being stuck in Halloween mode for the rest of the session once it becomes active. Spooky!
– Fixed distressed Foxparks’ mouseover hitbox being much larger than intended.
– Fixed Music Boxes playing their record scratch sound effect when trying to record an unrecordable track (e.g. Rainbow Boulder).
– Fixed Toybreaker Bricks not breaking Sticky Glowsticks and certain Kites.
– Fixed petting, sleeping or sitting not resetting the Kite AFK timer.
– Fixed sloped Rainbow Bricks not using the correct sprite.
– Linux now automatically falls back to OpenGL where Vulkan is not fully supported.
– If the game doesn’t launch/black screen, try /gldevice:OpenGL (or try repairing your Vulkan drivers).
– If the audio is dropping out, try /audiodriver:pulseaudio or /audiodriver:alsa (or try repairing your pipewire drivers).
– If none of those work, please submit a bug on the Terraria Community Forums.
– Proton is not supported or recommended, please submit a bug report before resorting to Proton.

Additional Changes for Console and Mobile (v1.4.5.4)
General fixes:
- Fixed the crash when trying to loot from chests which have defender medals inside
- Fixed items being lost when similar stacking into a full chest
- Fixed items not being sold by NPCs when they should be sold
- Fixed Guide to Environmental Protection not working as expected
- Fixed chest names being hidden if a blank slot was selected
- Added a menu for turning on/off secret seeds if multiple are entered
- Fixed some glows on a few lamps
Known Issues:
- On Xbox and PS4 the Crafty trophy/achievement is currently unobtainable. This is under investigation.
- We’re investigating some rumblings of data loss on Xbox, if this is you, there is a thread on the community forums to help us investigate
- Bulk Buying or crafting is not yet available on console and mobile as we look at the best way to implement it
- There is a rare crash that occurs when researching items, if the research page is not bound, the team is investigating
- If you have all the builder’s tools in the inventory, the Similar Stack/Quick Stack toggle is hidden in the tools popup, you can stash a tool in a chest as a temporary measure to get the button to appear
- In multiplayer, if you are the host and try to craft from a chest it does not work and you’ll need to restart the game. You can work around this by turning of chest crafting.
Content & Additions
– Unlocked Secret Seeds can now be toggled on and off via a new menu, accessed through the Secret Seed button.
– You can bulk buy and craft items in batches of 10 by holding Left Shift.
– You can now craft Pine Platforms from Pine Wood as well as Pine Tree blocks.
– Leashed kites and placed critters no longer break if they lack an anchor.
– Toybreaker Bricks now break Release Lanterns.
– Renamed the This is Canon Now painting to Brasilian Skies.
– The Constant + Skyblock seed worlds no longer display the Radio Thing’s effect by default.
– Added 1.4.5’s resprited sand piles’ old versions to the Rubblemaker.
– Bad luck no longer breaks watches.
– The special rules for worlds with few blocks now (retroactively) only apply to worlds that were generated with the Skyblock seed.
Balance
– Fully Restored Whip’s hitbox to match 1.4.4’s, and adjusted the backswing’s visuals to match it (The swing now always collides as if its up-to-down, for damage consistency).
– Improved Mushroom Staff’s damage from 5 to 8. We’re still keeping an eye on it.
– Improved Thunder Zapper’s damage from 20 to 24.
– Reduced Flinx Fur Staff’s Flinx Fur cost from 10 to 6 (same as pre-1.4.5).
– Clouds can now be mined twice as fast.
Bug Fixes
– Optimized Spore Sac’s code in multiplayer.
– Fixed villagers refusing to arrive if Truffle is homeless. (Yes, It was Truffle all along.)
– Fixed inputs sometimes not registering when playing at a low framerate.
– Fixed worlds failing to due to a bug involving placed critters (affected worlds are fine and will now load successfully).
– Fixed the Screen Shake option’s value not persisting between sessions.
– Fixed quick stacking items to nearby chests in multiplayer not making those items available for other players who have craft from nearby chests enabled.
– Fixed the Chain Knife not being dropped in pre-Hardmode.
– Fixed a crash caused by the Book Worm achievement.
– Fixed Pine Wood blocks sometimes being invisible.
– Fixed a typo in the Logic Gate (XOR)’s tooltip.
– Fixed several cases in which the Dungeon entrance would be on a Floating Island.
– Fixed Sandstorm visuals not appearing in Crimson or Hallow Deserts.
– Fixed the Empress of Light’s Treasure Bag dropping 1 Prismatic Dye instead of 3.

– Fixed the last item in the Tavernkeep’s shop. Tavernkeep no longer sells Town Pylons in order to accommodate his fully unlocked store.
– Fixed a bug with minecart tracks that could allow you to slide on air.

Previously, a big Terraria update 1.30 added Terraria 1.4.5 “Bigger and Boulder” delivers major crossover content, new gear, pets, mounts, and world options alongside large-scale quality-of-life improvements..
