Team Fortress 2 Update Patch Notes – October 25, 2024

A new Team Fortress 2 update is available to download on PC. According to the official Team Fortress 2 patch notes, the latest update reverts the BLU Scout pants fix, introduces a custom refund system for upgrades, and improves overall logic for effect applications. Multiple maps and sound files received key updates, alongside Zombie mode adjustments for balance and improved player experience.

General Cosmetic and Item Fixes

  • BLU Scout Pants Fix Reverted
    • Reverted recent BLU Scout pants fix due to conflicts with existing cosmetics.
  • Fleet Commander
    • Re-imported Fleet Commander to resolve previous update issues.
  • Unusual Effects Update
    • Updated Phantom Plague and Haunting Haze effects to fix issues where effects spawned away from players.

Gameplay and Logic Improvements

  • Upgrade and Refund System Overhaul
    • Implemented new custom system for refunds to address inconsistencies within and across rounds.
    • Fixed logic for currency mismatches when leaving upgrade zones without confirming refunds.
    • Reapplied checks for player status in upgrade stations.
  • Ghosts and Sentry Buster Adjustments
    • Reverted recent changes to Ghosts and Sentry Busters to fix unintended effects.
    • Added a forced player kill option to resolve edge cases for surviving past sentry buster explosions.
  • Improved Potion Effect Application
    • Enhanced logic to prevent overlapping potion effects.
  • Shield and Canteen Bug Fixes
    • Resolved issues with Sniper and Demoman shields not clearing upgrades.
    • Fixed canteen values not resetting properly during refunds.

Map Updates

  • cp_freaky_fair
    • Fixed game mode logic issues.
    • Increased the skybox height.
    • Adjusted last point capture time from 6s to 7s.
    • Added clipping to prevent giants from building on rooftops.
    • Smoothed divot areas (Thanks, Midnite!).
  • Zombie Infection Map Updates
    • Updated maps: zi_atoll, zi_blazehattan, zi_devastation_final1, zi_murky, zi_sanitarium, and zi_woods.
    • Adjusted respawn triggers in zi_murky for new spawn zones.

Zombie Infection Mode

  • Sound Improvements
    • Re-encoded all Zombie Infection sound effects to .WAV format to fix playback issues and error messages.

Zombie-Specific Changes

  • Sniper’s Spit Pool
    • Spit Pool damage no longer stacks for Survivors in overlapping zones.
  • Zombie Heavy
    • Zombie Heavy is no longer immune to critical hits.
    • Increased max health to 525 (from 450).
  • Zombie Pyro
    • Increased max health to 250 (from 175).
    • Drops a medium health kit on death.

Survivor-Specific Changes

  • Crossbow Damage Adjustment
    • Removed flat damage multiplier for Crossbows against Zombies.
  • B.A.S.E Jumper and Ammo Adjustments
    • The B.A.S.E Jumper cannot be deployed by the last three survivors.
    • Jumper weapons no longer store reserve ammunition.

Since the last Team Fortress patch, players are experiencing problems with the game. Today’s Team Fortress 2 patch will fix a few of these issues.
