Stellaris Console update 2.002 is now available to download on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. According to the official Stellaris 2.002 patch notes, the latest update reduces Forever Cruise progression, extends passenger contract grace periods to 24 months, restores the Defenders of the Galaxy achievement, fixes Open Beta setup issues, and resolves multiple crashes involving Waystations, combat, AI contract evaluation, tooltips, low-resolution displays, and anomaly generation. Today’s Stellaris Console patch 2.002 also includes stability fixes.

Balance Changes
- Reduced the progression rate of the Forever Cruise situation on all difficulty settings.
- Significantly lowered how much the Forever Cruise situation scales with game difficulty, with values further reduced from the previous Open Beta build.
- Doubled the grace period after completing a crew or passenger contract, pausing passenger satisfaction progression for 24 months.
- Additional balance updates are planned for the upcoming Open Beta release.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the Defenders of the Galaxy achievement so it can now be unlocked correctly.
- Resolved overlapping and missing items in the single-player game setup screen in the Open Beta version.
Stability Improvements
- Fixed a Waystation UI issue that could cause crashes in certain situations.
- Resolved a crash when changing the animated main menu background from the in-game settings menu.
- Fixed a crash that could occur while AI evaluated available contracts.
- Resolved crashes affecting 800p and lower resolutions when clicking on Waystations.
- Fixed a combat crash caused by invalid ship design component arrays.
- Resolved a crash that could occur when escaping combat as an enemy ship was destroyed.
- Fixed a crash in spawn_random_anomaly when an orbital fleet contained no ships.
- Resolved a crash triggered by hovering over an empire’s ethics tooltip after that empire had been destroyed.
- Fixed a crash when hovering ethics tooltips in the empire setup screen.
- Resolved a potential crash caused by opponents being removed during combat.
