Starfield Update 1.13.61 Patch Notes – August 21, 2024

Starfield update 1.13.61 is available to download on PC and Xbox. According to the official Starfield patch notes, the latest update adds new frame rate settings, VSync toggle, and Rev-8 vehicle, along with Xbox Series S performance options. Apart from this, Starfield patch 1.13.61 also resolves multiple gameplay, UI, and ship-related issues.

Recently, a major update 1 added Nvidia DLSS support, enhancing graphics on compatible Nvidia cards. A new feature allows players to ingest food and drink items found in the game world. Unfortunately, since the release, players are experiencing various bug fixes and errors. Today’s Starfield update 1.13.61 will fix a few of these issues.

New Settings

Frame Rate Target

  • Choose between 30, 40, 60, or Uncapped frame rate on VRR displays.
  • On non-VRR displays, only 30 or 60 fps options available.
  • Screen tearing may occur when selecting 60 on non-VRR displays.

Prioritize (Visuals or Performance)

  • Visuals: Higher resolution and detail for effects, lighting, and crowds.
  • Performance: Reduced resolution and detail for better frame rate.
  • Dynamic resolution adjustment in heavier scenes.
  • Brief lighting changes when switching modes.

VSync

  • Toggle On: Syncs game frames with monitor refresh rate to avoid screen tearing.
  • Toggle Off: May result in screen tearing but increases frame rate.

New Features

  • Rev-8 Vehicle: Now available for purchase from the ship technician.
  • Xbox Series S: Added performance options.

General Fixes & Improvements

  • General performance and stability improvements.
  • UI fixes and improvements for Creations.

Gameplay Fixes

  • Fixed scanning issue on Beta Marae I planet.
  • Resolved issues with Legendary weapons affecting Well Fed and Hydrated effects.
  • Fixed frequent “You are now Hydrated” notifications when switching weapons.
  • Addressed Sustenance effect issues in NG+ variants.
  • Fixed Novastrike sniper rifle reloading issues.
  • Resolved incorrect character animations holding the Novastrike rifle.
  • Fixed visual issues with Magshot reload animation in zero-g.
  • Extreme Temperature Entry Spacesuit can now be displayed.
  • Multiple items spawning on display stands fixed.
  • Trackers Alliance HQ wall item, The Rattler, is now interactive.
  • Gravity Well fix to stop pulling NPCs into ships at the Chop Shop.

Map and Fast Travel Fixes

  • Improved city map location markers for better fast travel.
  • New map marker for The Well apartment in New Atlantis.
  • Shepherd’s General Store in Akila now displays a marker properly.

Weapon & Companion Fixes

  • Fixed Rapid Legendary effect not applying to melee weapons.
  • Resolved hostility issue with Lyle Brewer as a follower.
  • Updated Shielded Grip and Large Shielded Grip mod descriptions for Plasma Cutter.
  • Balanced Mysterious Tracker’s voice audio.
  • Fixed unexpected noises upon entering The Lodge in NG+ variants.

Ships

  • Fixed docking bridges remaining extended.
  • Resolved duplicate ship models when modifying landed non-home ships.
  • Shipbuilder: Correct module variant reversion when pressing cancel.
  • Ship Decoration: Fixed object placement issue outside the ship with the Ecliptic Claymore.

Graphics

  • Fixed Frame generation setting turning off when DLSS was selected (PC).
  • Improved ship and station interior lighting in photo mode.
  • Enhanced puddle reflection quality.
  • Fixed visual artifacts during upscaling on planets viewed from space.
  • Helmets now toggle correctly for companions in photo mode.

UI Fixes

  • Resolved issues with Ship and Inventory menus on 21:9 resolutions.
  • Fixed large font issues for Carry Capacity display in inventory.
  • Addressed display issues for The Cue Ball and Ping Pong Ball in inventory menu.

Outpost Fixes

  • Flood lamps decoration items now correctly toggle on and off at powered outpost
