Splatoon 3 Update 9.0 Patch Notes for Nintendo Switch

A new Splatoon 3 update 9.0 details are now available for Nintendo Switch players. According to the Splatoon 3 9.0 patch notes, the latest update brings amiibo support, connectivity improvements, weapon balancing, enhanced Splatfest features, and tweaks to Salmon Run. Apart from this, Splatoon 3 version 9.0.0 also includes bug fixes across multiple stages and game modes..

Previously, a minor Splatoon 3 update 1.20 added various tweaks and changes. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing several issues while playing the game. Splatoon 3 patch 9.0.0 will fix a few of these issues.

Splatoon 7 Update 9.0 Patch Notes – August 29, 2024

Amiibo Changes

  • New amiibo Support:
    • Callie (Alterna)
    • Marie (Alterna)
    • Pearl (Side Order)
    • Marina (Side Order)

Connectivity Improvements

  • Improved data transfer between players, reducing latency by approximately 0.4/60 seconds overall.
  • Combat-related latency reduced by an average of 3.4/60 seconds.

Multiplayer Changes

Weapon Adjustments
  • Squeezer/Foil Squeezer:
    • Reduced first shot speed by 5% and firing movement speed by 8%.
  • Range Blaster/Custom Range Blaster:
    • Explosion radius decreased by 6%, ink splatter radius reduced by 9%.
  • Snipewriter 5H/5B:
    • Slightly decreased shot spray width.
  • Slosher/Slosher Deco/Order Slosher Replica:
    • Increased ink consumption by 9%.
  • Heavy Edit Splatling/Nouveau:
    • Reduced spray droplets, with foot inking frequency unchanged.
  • Wellstring V/Custom Wellstring V:
    • Ink splatter radius reduced by 8%.
Special Weapon Adjustments
  • Trizooka:
    • Slightly increased delay before firing after activation by 1/12 of a second.
Special Weapon Points Adjustments
  • Custom Range Blaster: 200 → 210 points
  • Slosher/Order Slosher Replica: 200 → 210 points

X Battle Changes

  • Reduced likelihood of encountering the same players in consecutive matches.
  • Restricted Tentatek Division selection for Japan and nearby regions.

Splatfest Updates

  • Players with Splatfest Title Ruler or higher can:
    • Access the Splatfest Float for photos with allies.
    • Unlock additional poses, including Deep Cut, Squid Sisters, and Off the Hook (with Expansion Pass).

Salmon Run Changes

  • Added data for an upcoming Big Run event.
  • New rewards including fish scales from the reward meter, with more frequent gear changes.

Other Changes

  • Reduced weapon Freshness XP required for 1★ from 10,000 to 5,000, making Sheldon Licenses easier to obtain.
  • Design changes for some Splashtag banners.

Fixes to Player Controls

  • Fixed issue where players could get stuck in the air near certain terrain corners.
  • Adjusted aiming reticle for chargers to improve visibility with specific ink colors.
  • Fixed issue where explosions from blasters, stringers, or Ink Vac wouldn’t ink walls at boundaries.
  • Fixed issue where dualie Dodge Roll or splatana lunge wouldn’t smoothly reach the top of slopes.
  • Fixed issue with Dread Wringer’s ink flight distance when jumping.
  • Fixed visibility issues for sub and special weapon impact points depending on ink color.
  • Fixed issue where Tacticooler would vanish when colliding with moving terrain.
  • Fixed unintended actions or sound effects when using Drop Roller gear ability after Zipcaster or Inkjet.
  • Fixed issue where players would get stuck after descending onto tower pillars post-Booyah Bomb use.

Fixes to Multiplayer

  • Fixed issue in Scorch Gorge (Turf War/Clam Blitz) where players could enter the opponent’s base using Squid Roll.
  • Fixed swimming issue in inked areas of Scorch Gorge during Clam Blitz.
  • Fixed issue in Eeltail Alley (Rainmaker) where countdown didn’t speed up in Rainmaker-free zones.
  • Fixed Super Jump issues on rotating terrain in Museum d’Alfonsino.
  • Fixed issue in Museum d’Alfonsino (Turf War/Splat Zones) where attacks passed through certain boxes.
  • Fixed clipping issues with Zipcaster on certain terrain in Mahi-Mahi Resort.
  • Fixed Super Jump issue near streetlight in Inkblot Art Academy.
  • Fixed Zipcaster attachment issue in Inkblot Art Academy.
  • Fixed Squid Roll exploit to enter opponent’s base in Inkblot Art Academy (Turf War/Splat Zones).
  • Fixed issue in Sturgeon Shipyard where players could enter opponent’s base using Squid Roll.
  • Fixed issue in Sturgeon Shipyard where players could get on top of lights on walls.
  • Fixed clipping issues with Zipcaster and Inkjet in Sturgeon Shipyard.
  • Fixed Zipcaster clipping in Brinewater Springs.
  • Fixed size of grates in Brinewater Springs that players could stand on.
  • Fixed countdown issue in Brinewater Springs (Rainmaker) in Rainmaker-free zones.
  • Fixed swimming issue in Barnacle & Dime (Tower Control) where certain points allowed swimming without being inked.
  • Fixed terrain display issue in Humpback Pump Track before battle start.
  • Fixed issue in Lemuria Hub where players could enter opponent’s base by jumping from moving terrain.
  • Fixed camera clipping into terrain in Lemuria Hub.
  • Fixed unstable movement of terrain in Lemuria Hub.
  • Fixed issue where Ink Mines placed at the edge of moving terrain in Lemuria Hub would vanish or explode.
  • Fixed Reefslider direction change when used on moving terrain in Lemuria Hub.

Fixes to Salmon Run

  • Fixed issue where brella canopy appeared uninked on other players’ screens.
  • Fixed communication error when Horrorboros and Megalodontia hit a Fish Stick simultaneously.
  • Fixed issue in Bonerattle Arena (Rush waves) where Salmonids would get stuck at certain locations.
  • Fixed bouncing animation issue with Mr. Grizz radio when approached repeatedly.
  • Fixed issue where XTRAWAVE result was recorded incorrectly as success in SplatNet 3 despite failure in-game.
  • Fixed reward reflection issue in SplatNet 3 after a communication error on Big Run reward screen.
  • Fixed game progression issues when selecting Again! after Eggstra Work jobs.

Fixes to Splatfests

  • Fixed issue where Fizzbang would not launch properly inside a Big Bubbler.
  • Fixed issue where Splatfest team banner would continue to display during battles.
  • Fixed missing terrain on the Turf Map in Eeltail Alley (Tricolor Turf War).
  • Fixed Zipcaster attachment issues in Eeltail Alley (Tricolor Turf War).
  • Fixed ink brightness inconsistency in Mahi-Mahi Resort despite being inked by the same team.

  • Fixed issue in Regular Battles where selecting Keep Going displayed players who chose Stop as still being in the room.
  • Fixed sorting issue in Tableturf Battle Card List where the Custom Range Blaster was not listed properly.
  • Fixed issue with Anarchy Splatcast where the news would stop progressing if the L Stick was repeatedly pressed.
  • Fixed issue where players with nearly max cash wouldn’t receive converted cash from duplicate items at the Shell-Out Machine.
  • Fixed issue where “Connection is unstable” message appeared in Photo Mode during Private Battle recon.
