Smite update 12.56 (v10.6) is available to download on PS4, PC, and Xbox One. According to the official Smite 12.56 patch notes, the latest update adds a new mechanic called Soul Surges. Apart from this, Smite version 12.56 also includes a long list of bug fixes.
Previously, a big season Smite update 8.9 added Shiva – The Destroyer to the game. Unfortunately, since the last major patch, players are experiencing several issues with the game. Today’s Smite patch 12.56 will fix a few of these issues.

Quality of Life Improvements
- Runescape Capes and Dyes can now be browsed, previewed, and equipped from the Gods -> Skins section of the game client.
- SMITE will now run on Linux systems.
Bug Fixes
- UI:
- Invalid queues are no longer populated and selectable in MultiQueue.
- The “Update in Progress” HUD alert no longer randomly appears in other tabs on the Profile Loadout page.
- Increased damage taken from specific items or God abilities now shows the correct mitigation numbers on the Recent Damage Taken and Dealt screens of the HUD.
- Blocked users no longer populate in the Quick Party System.
- The God Mastery is now centered on the Gamer Girl Loading Frame.
- General Gameplay:
- Aegis Relics now negate all healing.
- Auto-Buy now purchases a sixth item in Joust.
- The Titan can no longer be Critically hit or Lifestealed from in Jungle Practice.
- Gods:
- The de-transformation from The Morrigan’s Ultimate ability no longer spawns an orb in Duel.
- Ah Puch’s Fleeting Breath ability now properly stuns enemies that are healed during its duration.
- Rama’s abilities no longer significantly reduce FPS for users on the New HUD.
- An animation issue with the Taunt on Rama’s Marksman skin has been fixed with Smite version 12.56.
- Baba Yaga’s Baba Beans skin no longer shows some auto attack stretching FX.
- Vamana’s passive now mentions that Attack Speed is gained instead of converted.
- Danzaburou’s Alluring Spirits ability no longer does extra damage to Enemy Gods instead of only Jungle Camps at a certain rank.
- Gilgamesh’s Hero’s Advance ability now has the correct Mana values at all ranks.
- Athena’s abilities no longer significantly reduce FPS for users on the New HUD.
- An issue with the incorrect audio playing for VBB (Enemies have returned to base) on Athena’s One True God skin has been fixed with Smite patch 12.56.
- Bellona’s abilities no longer significantly reduce FPS for users on the New HUD.
- An issue with the incorrect audio playing for Serqet’s Nyanners skin’s VSA1 (I’ll attack left lane) line has been fixed.
- An issue with the VGS for Enemies Missing Left and Enemy Missing Middle being swapped on Ne Zha’s Demon Dasher skin has been fixed.
- Artemis’ God Icon Avatar now matches her card art.
- Cthulhu’s Base voice pack now plays audio.
- Persephone’s passive no longer lets her bypass her respawn timer.
- The SFX from Persephone’s Ironmouse skin’s abilities are now louder.
- Persephone’s Base audio no longer plays when she dies on her Ironmouse skin.
- Ishtar’s Spreadshot ability’s FX flash is no longer too bright on her Striking Archon skin.
- Items:
- Runeforged Hammer is now purchaseable when bought outright (Tier 3) and Auto-Buy now purchases this item.
- Relic Dagger is now purchaseable when bought outright (Tier 3) and Auto-Buy now purchases this item.
Soul Surges
- Soul Surges are a new mechanic that spawns on player death.
- They create a circular area of effect that grants movement speed and a buff to damage dealt to gods with low health.
- Spirit Minions spawn from the center of the Soul Surge, attacking any nearby gods and providing XP and Gold when slain.
- The area of effect expands and the duration increases with each additional God death.
- There is a global Soul Surge cooldown after the time expires.
Shutdown Nerfs
- The shutdown reward has been decreased from 200 XP and 50 Gold to 150 XP and 35 Gold.
Ranked Reset
- All Ranked Players at all MMR values will have their rank reset.
- Capped MMR 3500 players will be reset to 3000, and this effect gets proportionally weaker down the MMR Scale. Players close to 1500 will notice only a very slight reset.
- Masters and GM Will be reset to Diamond 1
Assault
- Cthulhu and Shiva are no longer considered healers.
- Ix Chel is now considered a Tier 2 healer.
Conquest
- The Conquest Map has been updated to the Underworld.
- The Mid Lane is now wider and has new pathing.
- A new objective called the Stygian Beacon has been added.
- The Titans have been nerfed.
- The Fire Giant has been buffed.
- Several other balance changes have been made to Conquest.
Overall
- The goal of these balance changes is to make the game more exciting and to encourage more aggressive play.
- The new Soul Surge mechanic is designed to create more dynamic teamfights and to give players more opportunities to come back from behind.
- The changes to the Conquest Map are designed to make the game more fast-paced and to encourage more rotations.
- The changes to the objectives and the Titans are designed to make the game more snowball-resistant and to give teams more opportunities to win.
