According to the official Skull and Bones 1.000.029 patch notes, the latest update Introduces Item Ascension (unlock at Infamy Tier 9) for weapon upgrades via Blacksmith. World Tier 2: Cutthroat Seas offers tougher enemies and Ascended loot. New Schooner ship (Smuggler Pass), Shell-Shocked status, and Lightning Storms. Apart from this, Skull and Bones version 1.000.029 also includes stability fixes.

Item Ascension
Unlock:
- Reach Infamy Tier 9 to receive the quest “Ascension and Modification” via mail.
- Complete the quest at the Blacksmith.
Modification Grades:
- Basic: Small stat boosts.
- Advanced: Stronger upgrades.
- Special: Unique effects (e.g., elemental damage).
Slots by Rarity:
- Common: 2 Basic, 1 Advanced, 1 Special
- Uncommon: 1 Basic, 1 Advanced, 1 Special
- Rare: 2 Basic, 1 Special
- Epic: 1 Basic, 1 Advanced
Costs:
- Higher rarity weapons use Ascension Pieces (e.g., Epic: 4-6 pieces per slot).
How to Ascend:
- Use Ascension Modules (from high-tier chests, bosses, vendors) + materials/Silver.
- Unlock slots for random modifications.
Reforging (Reroll Mods):
- Spend Upgrade Parts to replace mods (max 60 attempts per weapon).
- Final slot requires a Masterwork Kit (from forts, cargo, or Sea Lord chests).
Key Rules:
- Ascended weapons are bound (no trading/PvP looting).
- Salvage for materials or sell for Silver.
- Looted Ascended gear has stronger mods than crafted.
