According to the official Civilization 7 patch notes, the latest Civilization VII patch 1.4.1 adds the new Archipelago map type, introduces Hotseat multiplayer, reworks Governments and Happiness, removes the Revolutions Crisis, and launches the first Brush and Blade DLC content with Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Heian Japan, and Sengoku Japan. Civilization VII Update 1.4.1 Patch Notes

New Features

  • Added the new Archipelago map type.
  • Renamed the previous Archipelago map to Archipelago Hemispheres.
  • Expanded lake generation with more varied shapes and increased lake coverage.
  • Added Hotseat local multiplayer mode.

Happiness Changes

  • Introduced five local Happiness stages: Ecstatic, Joyous, Happy, Unhappy, and Angry.
  • Happiness stages now influence Government bonuses and other gameplay systems.
