Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 Update 1.000.008 Patch Notes (1.06)

Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 update 1.000.008 (v1.2) is available to download on PS5, PS4(1.06), and PC (Steam). According to the official Civilization 7 patch notes, the latest Civilization VII’s 1.2 update 1.2.0 introduces 10 new resources, a revamped food and population growth system, the return of multiplayer teams, and the “Just One More Turn” endless play mode. AI improvements, UI polish, and balance tweaks enhance gameplay. Additionally, the Civilization 7 patch 1.000.008 also includes performance improvements.

Since the last patch, players are facing a number of problems with the game. Today’s Sid Meiers Civilization 7 version 1.06 will fix a few of these issues. Read more details below.

New Features

  • Resources:

    • Added 10 new resources: Mangoes, Clay, Flax, Rubies, Rice, Limestone, Tin, Llamas, Hardwood, Wild Game.

    • Each has unique effects and appears in Antiquity or Exploration AgeRice, Limestone, Tin, Llamas, Hardwood also appear in Modern Age.

    • Added narrative events tied to each resource.

    • Resources now randomize on new games, but some are guaranteed per Age for Economic Legacy Path accessibility.

    • Exploration/Modern Age “Treasure” and “Factory” resources spawn on only one hemisphere, requiring trade/expansion.

  • Treasure Resources Updates:

    • Now grant passive empire effects and generate Treasure Fleets when improved in coastal settlements on distant lands.

    • New Treasure Resources: Horses, Furs, Rubies (join Gold, Silver, Cocoa, Spices, Sugar, Tea).

    • Hemisphere-exclusive: Cocoa, Spices, Sugar, Tea split across landmasses/islands.

    • On-map icons/tooltips distinguish Homelands vs. Distant Lands resources.

    • Dev Note: “Distant Lands” depends on your civilization’s perspective.

  • Resource Balance:

    • Dyes: +4 Happiness (was +3).

    • Fish: Now a Bonus Resource (+6 Food in Port settlements, +3 otherwise).

    • Tin: New Factory Resource boosting Growth Rate.

    • Dev Note: Reduced Growth Rate scaling from Fish; Tin replaces it.

  • Map Generation:

    • Improved coastal erosion on Continents Plus, Continents, Shuffle, Terra Incognita maps for more varied coastlines.


Gameplay

  • AI:

    • Builds larger navies on Archipelago maps.

    • No longer duplicates City-State Bonuses.

    • Improved naval attack handling and Great People usage.

    • Fixed issue where AI sometimes ignored nearby enemies.

  • Age Transition:

    • Fixed Legacy card unlock bug (partial fix; investigation ongoing).

  • Diplomacy:

    • Espionage Penalty: Increased from 50% to 100% cost over 10 turns.

    • Espionage Time: +50% longer to steal Tech/Civics.

    • Counterspy: Works against multiple players; adds 30% failure chance.

    • Fixed Influence penalty removal when losing conquered settlements.

    • Fixed Befriending Independent Power reward bug.

    • Dev Note: Espionage is riskier with more counterplay.

  • Environment:

    • Reduced natural disaster frequency: Light (-50%), Moderate (-25%), Catastrophic unchanged.

  • Economy:

    • Bridges: Purchasable in Towns.

    • Coastal Towns: Connect to same-continent City Centers.

    • City Upgrade Cost: +100 Gold per Age in Exploration/Modern.

    • Removed Happiness penalties for lost trade routes/Migrant Units.

    • Buildings can’t be purchased without enough Gold.

    • Fixed Merchant road-building and Town connection bugs.

    • Buildings can replace obsolete tiles without losing Rural Population.

    • Expansionist Legend: Correctly reduces Town upgrade cost.

    • Manhattan Project: Can’t be started in multiple cities at once.

  • Food & Growth:

    • Removed Population growth hard-cap; formula now scales quadratically.

  • Independent Powers:

    • No longer removed if all Units are lost.

    • Dispersing with Naval Units no longer deletes adjacent districts.

  • Miscellaneous:

    • Great People can’t be used on ineligible tiles.

    • Fixed tutorial order (Tech before City Growth).

  • Mementos:

    • Fixed Confucius’ Brush Food bug and Lantern Memento effect activation.

  • Military:

    • Packed Units: Upgrade All button works for Commanders.

    • Cavalry: +10 Production/+1 Gold maintenance per Age.

    • Initiative Promotion: Works on Rivers/rough terrain post-Age Transition.

    • Naval Units prioritize larger water bodies on Age Transition.

    • Fixed Aerodrome Commander reward after conquering Cities.

  • Religion:

    • Fertility Rites: Applies to all Settlements.

    • God of Healing: Requires Altar in Capital (global effect remains).


Civs

  • Chola: Fixed Samayam trade capacity.

  • Inca: Fixed Quipu Tradition stacking bug.

  • Mexico: Fixed José María Morelos Unit disappearance.

  • Prussia: Settlements use only Prussian names.


UI

  • New Features:

    • Research queuing for locked Techs/Civics.

    • Repair All button in Production menu.

    • Great Person ability highlights on tiles.

  • Fixes:

    • Civilopedia/Religion menu overlap fixed.

    • War support icon alignment corrected.

    • Settlement HP bar no longer overlaps Diplomacy.

    • Civilopedia entries updated for accuracy (Harriet Tubman, Hatshepsut, Ibn Battuta, Slinger).

    • Controller fixes: Resource highlighting, Legacy Path navigation, etc.

    • Notifications: Reduced Town Specialization spam; fixed Settlement Razed text in translations.

  • Text/Tooltips:

    • Added war warnings for alliances.

    • Fixed Building placement warnings, Walls description, yield rounding.

    • Removed hyphens in Hawaiian city names.

    • Tooltips show Crisis phase timers, Diplomatic cooldowns, and Civ relationships.


Narrative

  • Added new events; fixed trigger issues.

  • Corrected quotes/attributions for Charted Companies, Pax Britannica, etc.

  • Fixed reward mismatches in events (Body As a Tool, Denied, Forest Law, etc.).


Audio

  • Fixed incorrect VO, missing Unit SFX, and UI audio.

  • Updated Building placement SFX.


Platform-Specific

  • Consoles: Fixed DLC offline availability.

  • Linux/macOS: Input fixes.

  • macOS: Stability/UI flow improvements.

  • PlayStation: Multiplayer lobby fixes, UI overlaps resolved.

  • Steam: Autosave limit increased to 100.
