A new Sea of Thieves update 3.11 is available to download on PS5, Xbox and PC. According to the official Sea Of Thieves version 3.11 patch notes, the latest SOT update refines the Burning Blade’s mechanics, boosts the Blunderbuss’s knockback, and adds new cosmetics. Apart from this Seas of Thieves patch 3.11 also includes balancing changes and various bug fixes.
Patch Summary:
- Crews can no longer return the Burning Blade to Reaper’s Hideout during combat.
- Blunderbuss knockback has been enhanced, but its damage is reduced.
- Horn of Fair Winds is now more common, but worth less gold.
- New cosmetics and items are available in the Pirate Emporium.
- Fixed issues with Burning Blade interactions, ship milestones, and the Blade of Souls.
Previously, a big SOT update 2.8 added Season 9 update added Bury Treasure, Share Map, Cannon Rowboats, Fireworks, and Flares. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing a number of issues with the game. Today’s SOT update 3.11 will address a few of these issues.

The Burning Blade: Combat and Control Changes
- Crews cannot return the Burning Blade to The Reaper’s Hideout during combat.
- A majority crew vote is required to pledge as the Burning Blade or return it to Reaper’s Hideout.
- Crew votes will reset if the Burning Blade leaves the island vicinity and must be retaken upon return.
Gameplay Improvements
Blunderbuss Rework
- Increased knockback at close range with more vertical force.
- Widened spread pattern, maximizing knockback potential.
- Players hit by the Blunderbuss lose air control.
- New visual effects added to show the effective knockback range.
- Blunderbuss damage reduced to 90 total, preventing one-hit kills.
- Pellets fizzle out at long range, confirming its close-range role.
Horn of Fair Winds Availability
- Now easier to find in Siren Treasury Vaults and shipwrecks.
- Small chance of discovery on islands.
- Gold value reduced when cashed in.
