Rust update 1.98 is available to download on PS4 and Xbox One. According to the official Rust Console 1.98 patch notes, the latest update introduces Tugboats and a new Ping system, alongside various bug fixes, UI enhancements, and visual improvements. Apart from this, Rust patch 1.98 also improved the Spectate mode functionality.

Tugboats
- New vehicle for placing items like barbecues, chests, and furnaces.
- Behaves like Rowboat or RHIB but must be acquired from Harbors.
Pings
- Use binoculars to add up to 5 markers visible to your team.
- Markers appear on the compass for easy navigation.

- Respawn at the point of spectating initiation.
- Team member names display correctly.

Previously, a major Rust Halloween update 1.64 added a new event, changes and improvements. Unfortunately, since the last patch, players are experiencing several issues while playing the game. Today’s Rust version 1.98 will fix a few of these issues.
