Rust Update 1.72 Patch Notes for PS4, PC & Xbox

Rust update 1.72 is rolling out on PS4 and Xbox One. According to the official Rust Console 1.72 patch notes, the latest update adds addressed the Necronomic Skin Pack related issue. Apart from this, Rust patch 1.72 also includes gameplay performance improvements.

Previously, a major Rust Halloween update 1.54 added a new event, changes and improvements. Unfortunately, since the last patch, players are experiencing several issues while playing the game. Today’s Rust PS4 update 1.72 will fix a few of these issues.

Rust Console Update 1.72 Patch Notes

  • Fixes the bugs with the Necronomic Skin Pack.
  • Added general stability fixes.
  • Other minor tweaks.

The following changes were added previously.

ADDED

Players can collect eggs that can be upgraded from bronze, to silver, and ultimately gold. These eggs can be cracked open for loot ranging from scrap to high-tier weapons. The Egg Basket will help you hunt for eggs. The Bunny Onesie and Bunny Ears are costume items only available during the event.

GAMEPLAY

Changed the behavior on the Lantern, Tuna Can Lamp and Water Barrel so they can be picked up with the Hammer using the button prompt and radial menu.
Changed the Large Furnace placement rules to match Steam.
Changed the Tech Tree so the Wooden Floor Spikes and Wooden Ladder slots are consistent with Steam.
Fixed a bug causing the Supply Drop to sink into the ground after landing.
Fixed a bug that blocked the ‘Silent’ setting for the RF Pager in the Inventory.
Fixed a bug that triggered the Hostile Timer when a player hits a loot crate or Recycler with a weapon or tool.
MONUMENTS
Changed oil refinery building at the Power Plant monument so that it will display bullet impact decals if fired at.
Changed the materials used on Power Plant pipe bends so they’re the correct color.
Changed the size of a dirt mound found near the sewer Green Keycard Door at the Power Plant monument to be consistent with Steam.
Fixed an area where dropped items could disappear on the ground inside the broken Silo Tower at the Power Plant monument.
Fixed floating pallets found at the Power Plant monument.
Fixed places in the Power Plant monument where the player could get stuck climbing into the industrial buildings.
Fixed scale for overpass bridge connecting two buildings in the Power Plant monument.
Fixed the floating Military Crate found near one of the Power Plant silos.
Fixed Z-fighting that occurred at the Power Plant on the edge of cooling tower walls, at the bottom of brick walls, the top of the silo, exterior of the intact cooling tower and interior of the cooling towers.
Improved graphics on the debris from the smokestack rubble, cardboard boxes, and reactor building ladders at the Power Plant monument.
Improved visuals for electric turbines at monuments to be consistent with Steam.
Removed test generator which was clipping through the floor of the Airfield office.

ITEMS

Fixed Input/Output boxes of Pressure Pads so they are not blocked by Rugs while using the Wire Tool.

Improved level of detail transitions for HBHF Sensor.

Fixed a visual bug with the Wooden Door causing both sides of the door to appear as the same side.

UI

Removed Test Generator and Simple Light from the Vending Machine Electricity listing tab.

Fixed overlapping Durability UI and battery stats visible when highlighting a Battery with the Wire Tool.

Fixed a bug that displayed names of player-owned Sleeping Bags and Beds in Streamer Mode.

OTHER CHANGES

Fixed a bug that could result in the player losing input when the controller is disconnected while loading into the Main Menu.


The following changes were added previously.

Gameplay

Fixed a bug that could prevent players in a bleeding state from holding X/Square to bleed out if the player previously used the Kill & Respawn function on the pause menu.
Fixed a bug that would destroy ladders if a player picks up an item next to it.
Added the ability to pour water out of a Water Jug regardless of the volume in the container.
Fixed a bug that blocked the sale of Targeting Computers at Vending Machines.
Fixed a bug that blocked Auto Turrets doing damage to players.
Fixed Medkit functionality so it provides the correct amount of instant healing and regeneration.
Removed an exploit that let players clip through terrain and rock formations.
Fixed a bug that caused downed player models to float after a Supply Signal crate is fully looted underneath them.
Fixed a bug that made the Holosight unusable when aiming at a Scientist holding a Flashlight.
Fixed a bug that despawned rocket launchers if fired by crouching players.
Fixed a bug that could result in base upkeep using more resources than required.

MONUMENTS

Fixed disappearing decals on the walls in the main Launch Site building.
Fixed a bug with the Elevator at the Launch Site that caused a visual desync for players.
Added collision for the tall window on the side of the main Launch Site building to stop players from walking through and falling to their deaths.
WORLD
Fixed flickering LOD issues with High External Stone Gate that were visible when players walk away from it.
Fixed untextured LODs for Metal Plate foundation building blocks.

UI

Removed redundant durability stats for the Workbench and BBQ in the Outpost which were visible when a player approached with a Hammer equipped.
Fixed map functionality issues when multiple Sleeping Bags are placed in groups.

  • Partially fixed invalid projectiles
  • Adjusted the behavior of Junkpile Scientists to match the release version on Steam
  • Fixed an issue causing the scientists to spawn in safe zones
  • Fixed the despawn rate of Junkpiles so players can loot them after scientists die
  • Fixed various cases of loud audio pop when using rowboat/rhib causing all sounds to disappear
  • Fixed in-game music issues with the volume option not working correctly
  • Fixed a bug that prevented ‘Give’ button from working correctly when trading with a Metal Shopfront if one side was full
  • Fixed issues with Ping settings on the HUD options menu
  • Fixed issues with the ‘Take All’ button so it works even if the hotbar is full
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when selecting an empty category in a Vending Machine
  • Fixed a bug in the Skin Store and Locker RC purchase screen that meant the balance would only update after restarting the game
