Rainbow Six Siege (R6) Update 2.44 Patch Notes (R6 Y8S1)

Ubisoft has released a new Rainbow Six Siege update 2.44 (Y8S1) on PS4, PC, PS5, and Xbox One. According to the official R6 Siege 2.44 patch notes, the latest update added quality-of-life fixes and gameplay optimizations. Additionally, today’s Rainbow Six Siege version 2.44 also includes performance improvements.

Previously, a major R6 Siege update 2.44added a new operator, gadget, ranked map, and much more. Recently, hotfix 2.36 was also released with minor tweaks. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing issues with the game. Today’s R6 Siege update 2.44 will fix a few of these issues. Read more details below.

New Attacker: Brava

• 3 speed Operator from Brazil

• Gadget: Kludge Drone

  • Hacks opponent electronics

  • Steals or destroys hacked devices

• Counters:

  • Mozzie: can use drone’s functionality as defender

  • Mute

  • Solis

  • Vigil

• Primary weapons:

  • PARA-308 assault rifle

  • CAMRS DMR

• Secondary weapons:

  • Super Shorty shotgun

  • USP40 pistol

• Secondary gadgets:

  • Claymore

  • Smoke Grenade

Anti-Cheat: Mousetrap

• Detects mouse & keyboard usage on consoles

• Adds increasing amounts of input latency when device is detected

• Launching mid-season

Onboarding

• Introducing Beginner Challenges

• Grouped by operator specalties, i.e. hard-breachers

• Rewards: Operators, Renown, Boosters, Newcomer Packs

• Available to all players

Balancing

• Removed reload canceling

• Zero: now has to manually pierce walls, gadget thereby better hidden

• Buffed Muzzle Break & Compensator attachments

Battle Pass

• New addition: Bravo Pack tickets

  • Earned for levels above level 100

  • Unlock any Bravo Pack rewards of your choosing

• Later in Year 8: UI and UX improvements to revamped Battle Pass

Player Behavior

• New voice chat anti-toxicity measures

• Muted by default after repeated abuse

Quality of Life

• Launch Test Server right from the live servers main menu

FIXED – Electricity VFX is not visible on deployable shields, reinforced walls and hatches.

FIXED – Players are able to see through barricades while picking up a deployable gadget.

LEVEL DESIGN

FIXED – Various gaps on Consulate that were allowing the attackers to see inside the building.

FIXED – Various LOD issues on Nighthaven Labs.

FIXED – Multiple LOD issues on various maps.

OPERATORS

FIXED – Solis’ hands go into an animation loop after cancelling the Megascan.

FIXED – Solis’ SPEC-IO loses functionality when Solis reactivates SPEC-IO after a Megascan at the end of the gauge.

FIXED – Solis’ hands remain frozen when vaulting while SPEC-IO is active.

FIXED – Hibana’s X-Kairos pellets are not destroyed if they are placed on a Kiba barrier and the Kiba barrier gets destroyed.

FIXED – Various operator VFX issues.

USER EXPERIENCE

FIXED – Xbox players cannot invite cross-generation.

FIXED – No notifications are present in the game when the player is presented with the cinematic that plays on first boot.

FIXED – Grim is missing from the U+ accounts.

FIXED – Various UI issues.

FIXED – Various Battlepass V2 issues.

FIXED – Various crossplay issues.

FIXED – Various localization issues.

FIXED – Various shop and customization issues.

FIXED – Can’t reconnect to an online Custom Game after leaving the session and attempting to re-join.
