R6 Patch 2.91 Patch Notes (PS5 Version 1.000.096)

Ubisoft has released a new R6 Siege update 2.91 on PS4, PC, PS5(version 1.000.096), and Xbox. According to the official R6 2.91 patch notes, the latest update brings platform-specific patch sizes, player protection changes, and operator balancing. Additionally, today’s R6 version 2.91 also includes various bug fixes for gameplay, level design, and user experience.

Crossplay – Console Default Setting

  • The default crossplay setting is now reset to “Consoles Preferred” to align with most console players’ preferences.

Grim – Kawan Hive Launcher

  • Grim’s Kawan Hive Launcher now has the correct ammo count of 5.

AI Text Chat Moderation

  • Fixed an issue where UI-only messages were being removed after being sent repeatedly.
  • No gameplay impact, but the fix ensures better player experience.
  • Further adjustments will be made based on player feedback.

The following changes were added previously.

Player Protection

Deactivation of Reputation Standing Pop-up
  • A yellow dot now appears on the main menu’s Reputation System tile for reputation changes instead of a pop-up.
Deactivation of Team Kill Kick
  • Players are no longer kicked for excessive team killing but reverse friendly fire will still activate. Team kills and ally damage still affect penalties and reputation.

PlayStation Tournament

  • Permanent deactivation of Rainbow Six Siege PlayStation® Tournaments feature.

Operator Balancing

Azami
  • Kiba Barrier: Increased bullet damage received.
Buck
  • Removed: GONNE-6.
Gridlock
  • Trax Stingers Damage: Increased to 15hp (from 10).
Echo
  • MP5SD: Added magnified scope.
  • Stats: Changed to 3 health and 1 speed (from 2/2).
Ela
  • Removed: Observation Blocker.
  • Added: Impact Grenades.
Melusi
  • Removed: Magnified scope from MP5.
  • Added: ITA12S as secondary weapon.
  • Banshee Sonic Defense: Increased to 4 (from 3).
Wamai
  • Removed: Magnified scope from MP5K.

Bug Fixes

Gameplay
  • Fixed objective flow breaking when vaulting outside a window in 2F East Corridor during Defense Tutorial.
Level Design
  • Fixed operator’s leg clipping through wall next to door in 2F Day Care on Theme Park map.
  • Fixed ability to navigate on top of concrete cover in 2F Target Corridor on Stadium Alpha map.
Operators
  • Fixed Fenrir’s F-NATT Dread Mine clipping inside wooden panels with a bulletproof camera.
  • Fixed melee attack issue with Montagne’s Le Roc Shield before deployment finishes.
User Experience
  • Fixed chat losing functionality if two users send max character messages.
  • Fixed Battle Pass tab replacing Main Menu tab when leaving Battle Pass map and pressing escape key simultaneously.
  • Fixed Intro tab being incorrectly highlighted when accessing the progression menu from a Battle Pass modal.
  • Fixed chat window appearance issues and slow loading in online sessions.
  • Fixed chat window shrinking when sending successive long messages.
  • Fixed text chat message sending issue when pressing Enter during a match.
  • Fixed placeholder text for Squad Leader in After Action Report screen.
  • Fixed recoil patterns not loading in Advanced Weapon Stats section when cycling through multiple attachments.
  • Fixed Fire Power weapon stat not accounting for barrel attachment changes.
  • Fixed placeholder name and organization in loadout menu of shooting range and attacker repick before operator selection.

Previously, a major Rainbow 6 Siege update 2.60 adds operator balancing tweaks including Frost’s Welcome Mat changes, Warden’s armor upgrade, and Tachanka’s damage boost. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing issues with the game. Today’s Rainbow 6 Siege patch 2.91 will fix a few of these issues.
