PUBG update 2.81 is rolling out on PS4, PC and Xbox One. According to the official PUBG 2.81 patch notes, latest update introduces the fast-paced Hot Drop Arcade Mode, a new stealthy Inflatable Boat, and improved Clan System goals. Participate in the PGC 2024 Pick’em Challenge for rewards, and enjoy enhanced QoL features across inventory and communication. Additionally, PUBG console version 2.81 also fixes vehicle, UI, and console-specific issues.

Arcade Mode
New Mode: Hot Drop
- Gameplay: Quick, intense action in a restricted safe zone; inspired by player feedback.
- Settings:
- Max Players: PC: 64 (min. 32); Console: 32 (min. 16)
- Perspective: TPP only
- Maps: Erangel, Miramar, Vikendi, or Taego
- Safe Zone: Shrinks quickly; severe damage outside it
- Team Composition: 4-man squads, auto-fill enabled
- Availability: Nov 20, 7 AM – Dec 3, 7 AM (UTC)
Team Deathmatch
- Map Update: Rondo’s Suburbia renamed to Rin Jiang.
New Vehicle: Inflatable Boat
- Quiet Water Travel: Uses oars for silent movement.
- Specifications:
- Max Speed: 20 km/h (solo), 50 km/h (with support rowing)
- Capacity: Up to 4 players; slot 1 controls steering
- Deployment: Can be placed on land or water; sinks when destroyed
- Spawn Locations: Available on all maps except Paramo and Haven.
Quality of Life (QoL) Improvements
- Teammate Spectating: View teammate inventory; follow teammates after Emergency Pickup plane drop.
- Deployable Items: Environmental conditions now displayed for items like Folded Shield, Inflatable Boat, and others.
- Enhanced Communication:
- Solo Mode Updates: Radio Message Wheel and ‘Enemy Spotted’ ping available.
- Console-Specific: ‘Enemy Spotted’ ping key added to controller presets.
World Updates
- PGC 2024 Decorations: Added themed decorations across maps.
- Taego: Reduced sound effects during overcast weather; removed mysterious decorations.
Clan System Enhancements
- Goals Adjusted: Reduced difficulty for Clan Challenges and Member Missions.
- UI Improvements: Improved visibility for Clan notifications and mission progress.
Crafter Pass & Workshop
- Crafter Pass: New rewards and events available. Check out Black Market 2024.
- Special Crafting:
- New Skins: Progressive weapon skins and Chromas exclusive to Black Market Special Crafting.
- Availability: Crafting closes Dec 9 (PC) and Dec 17 (Console).
Lobby & Esports

UX/UI Updates
- Inventory: Expiry dates for items now displayed.
- Notifications: Clearer messaging for new item rewards.

Previously, a major PUBG update 2.18 added a brand new vehicle – the Food Truck, Changing Weather, various map improvements on Deston, and more. Unfortunately, since the last major update, players are experiencing issues with the game. Today’s PUBG patch 2.81 will fix a few of these issues.
